BRONZE RANT!

Before you read this, let me just say that this is a rant as stated by the title.

I've been stuck in Bronze for as long as I can remember. I've practiced, watched pro videos, counterpicked. I've done everything you're supposed to do, but I can't get out of bronze because 2 VERY BIG THINGS THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE!

  1. Your team: You can't predict how your team will do. You can get the best team ever, or you can get the toxic, tilted, garbage teammates that play like they literally just hit 30 a few days ago. You can get troll picks, afks (thank you riot for remakes btw, but doesn't help if they ragequit or afk after remake is gone), people who barely know their champion (STOP GOING RANKED WITH CHAMPS YOU DON'T KNOW), those toxic players that just bring the whole game down, etc. The list goes on. To all those people who respond "get gud and carry", that's like asking me to 1v5 their team. I don't care how good you are, you can't 1v5 even the worst enemy team, especially when they're fed. And if you're Lulu supp or a top laner going full tank (the one that most smart players won't focus), you can't carry for crap. You don't deal the damage necessary to carry. So PLEASE stop telling us to carry! We're not all playing broken ass Akali, which leads me to my 2nd thing...

  2. OP as fuck Champions: Don't even try to deny there aren't champions that are broken as all Hell, and if your team doesn't ban them it's gg. Akali as stated above is SUPER broken if played right (gj you can hit buttons. congrats.) and you'd have to be on your first game as him or heavily countered/focused to do bad as Yasuo. Don't even get me STARTED on Darius, who I will ALWAYS ban if I don't have to ban a counter to me. These champions in higher tiers may be actually balanced and easy to deal with, but not in Bronze. Most Bronze players don't know how to handle these champions and will get destroyed by their ridiculous kits (looking at you Riven).

There's no way to deal with these. They just happen and you have to do your best to not feed. From Jgs not ganking to enemy jgs ganking TOO MUCH and getting fed off people who don't know how to ward, the list goes on and on for how bad it is to be in Bronze. It hurts even more when the team won't listen to you or is being overly toxic. Yes, toxic. It DOES affect games. It has psychological repercussions on the team. So please stop being toxic because someone's having a bad game. A little positive reinforcement goes a long way, people!

All in all, I've been perpetually stuck at high bronze 5 - 4 lp in bronze 4. I win games and then I lose almost the exact amount of games for the above reasons, dropping me back down and making it IMPOSSIBLE to climb. I don't have a team to go in with, and my only friends I play with main the exact same lanes I do, so I've had to learn to adc just to compensate (I main playing tanky champs in top/jg and am also a fairly decent supp, but I don't like supping to random adcs because of how toxic they can be). It can be so frustrating and depressing, especially considering the MONTHS of my life wasted doing this. All for nothing. Honestly if I hadn't spent so much money on League, I'd probably have quit already. The game's not fun at my current placement, both normals and ranked wise. I wanna climb so bad. I wanna be Challenger. I don't see that happening anytime soon though. Best to just give up on my dreams of being anything in this game.

Fist off, Akali has 2 HUGE weaknesses. Crowd control and her VERY weak pre-6. If you see an Akali, pick, say, Annie, and just punish her pre-6. Force her to sit under her turret or die, then don't push the wave so that she gets absolutely nothing from those minions. Starve her of everything, force her to come within her kill range or never gain any gold or experience.

Second, don't counter pick in bronze. Every single high-rank player suggests that you play a VERY small champion pool (6 or less) and get VERY good on them. Practice them in normals until you can play that champion nearly perfectly. My champion pool is 3 champions: Twitch (ADC), Skarner (jungle), and Sion (jungle). Those are my best 3 champions, and why everyone suggests to play a small pool is because you actually learn how to play that champion much better than anyone who's reacting and counter picking will know what they're doing.

Big thing here: A COUNTER IS NOT A COUNTER IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHY THAT CHAMPION COUNTERS THE ENEMY'S OR YOU DON'T EXECUTE IT. Going back to Akali, I can play Annie vs Akali all I want, but I don't play Annie very much. She's easy, yes, but I might not know exactly how to play that matchup. I have picked Annie to counter Akali before and I got absolutely destroyed by her. Why? Because I didn't understand HOW to play Annie specifically to beat an Akali. Now, I do, but I didn't at the time of playing that game. I recommend you go watch ScrapComputer and Phylol on YouTube. They have a lot of things about how to get better and how to climb. Scrap is currently platinum I think and Phy is diamond. Phy also has a second channel, Phy Games, on which he climbs to diamond on one account (an Unranked to Diamond series, where he started in promos and got placed in gold), and on another he plays on a different account trying to climb to master (a Road to Master series). Phylol releases a lot of meta-based content, talking about what's good at the moment, and Scrap releases a lot of stuff with general game knowledge, how to get better at the game. Here's a few videos by them that I really feel like you need to watch: How to escape each ELO by Phylol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPDGmA2quRU Easy/No Skill Champions (Explained/Ranted) by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlREEC4A4LY Why you shouldn't copy the pros by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTEp2BVaINM 3 Things Every Team Needs by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMX4aIQDoLs One Trick Pony vs Jack of All Trades by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR6bNMe3yH0 How EVERYTHING in League of Legends is Your Fault (Mindset to Improve) by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhxKWrMfCpo Rune Page Guide by ScrapComputer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcllFhnD7aI

Watch all of those videos and you might just learn something about the game and how to improve and climb. If you're stuck in bronze, stop blaming your teammates and see what can you do to improve. You are the only factor that you can change in your games, so if you're trying your hardest and not climbing, maybe you belong in bronze with your skills right now. Or, maybe, you're not playing to escape bronze, but imitating players who are better than you. All of these videos will explain how you can improve and why you shouldn't copy the pros. Bronze League of Legends and Professional League of Legends aren't even the same game. Another thing you can do is either record your games or look up your match history on replay.gg and see what you're doing wrong. There's a lot of things that some players do, even in Challenger, where, when they watch it back, they think "what was I thinking there?"

Players in plat and low diamond are so bad I can 1v5 them on occassion.

There's always more you can do to improve as a player. 2 really simple things for you to work on in the next month: Get you average cs per minute up. Laning roles you want to be getting minimum of 6 per minute or more, not 4. JG you want to average at least 4 per minute, not 2. This increase in income rate will provide you with items at a faster rate allowing you to trade at an advantage and then start applying your advantage in other lanes after you kill or force your opposition to back. And number 2, stop dying so much. Try to keep those deaths to less than 5 per game.

So, CS rate and deaths. Work on those two things for the next month. Improve them by about 30% and see how you fare once you can consistently manage that.

But ALL champions are super broken when played right??? I'd say to get out of bronze just go the really annoying splitpushing heimerdinger build like item 3060 item 3512 item 3116 and just push one lane to the inhibitor and then go help out other lanes.

Counterpicks aren't always counterpicks.

There's a lot of misinformation. Teemo isn't a counter to certain tops despite picking up kills.

If you have problems with ranked and you are soloing you should just duo or trio.
