Current Bloodthirster is worthless

Bloodthirster has been an item of note in past updates; with the old stacking gone for a while now and the update to the now-unique lifesteal. However, the current variation of the shielding passive is, in all honesty, equivalent to having more max HP in combat and nothing else.

There is absolutely NO advantage that this shield has over HP: It doesn't scale independently from lifesteal with reduced absorption, it cannot deal bonus damage based on the status of the shield, and it has no ability to trigger upon being attacked, similar to Yasuo's passive

Those are just my suggestions, but for the love of my ADC's, this current one cannot stay

Look at it this way: the AD and lifesteal on Bloodthirster are valued at 3980g (from the wiki), so if you charge up the shield you essentially have a free Giant's Belt worth of health (valued at 1000g). This is very valuable for surviving burst damage and diving enemies, especially if you have resistances to go with it (runes, Guardian Angel, Randuin's Omen, Banshee's Veil, Graves Passive, etc).

The advantage of the shield over purchasing health is that you get more durability and sustain from a damage item. While it's not as significant on tankier champions, ADCs tend to have around 2000 base health at level 18 and don't really buy health items (except for a defensive item after their core). At level 18, Bloodthirster's shield can be charged up to 350HP, which is roughly a sixth of the ADCs health pool, which can help a lot.

I completely agree. I want the old one back. A new one would be even better. It should have independent 10% life steal with a Unique Passive of 10%.
