Question regarding a in game situation. oppinion wanted on who was right and who was wrong

Ok I really need some players insight on this because I am a silver and these players who I argued with are gold/plat soo anyhow.

OK so were in a premade 5 man team we wernt on skype or any chat system but typing in game.

so im jungling and the enemy maokai steals my blue, I fight him and he runs off. So I say hey guys the maokai is stealing my blue I need help I have the timer on blue because he was fighting me. So blue comes back up maokai is now 2-0 because bot lane died to him in a gank. I go to my blue hes just about killed it. I smite it and begin fighting him he kills me and walks away. My team has no response to this despite having the timer on the buff.

So I say hey guy's I cant help you if you cant help me deal with him stealing my buff, I cant even give mid our blue...so blue comes up again and he steals it again this time i chase him into river again I die no response from my team.

Then later on about 10 mins after this, my azir who is our midlaner is at our 2nd turret and yasuo is sitting in the bush near red right beside him. I ward the bush and begin fighting him im coming from the jungle so im expecting to pincer him with azir. Azir stands there and continues to farm instead of helping with yasuo who he can CLEARLY see fighting me unless his eyeballs were gouged out his eye sockets while we were playing.

At this point I rage at them im pretty pissed off at this point and I begin argueing with them about the situation. the 1st thing they say to me ''Why didn't u ward it'' to which I respond ''even if I ward it if you guys aren't coming its not going to do anything hes going to take the buff and walk away'' they respond with ''we could have seen him doing it'' to which i respond with '' he took it 3 times and we had the timer every time why do u need a ward there when u clearly know that hes going to be there. If he stole the buff 1 or 2 times succesfully why wouldn't he try it again?''

to which they then claimed oh your a silver you dont know what ur talking about and so I said your trolls deleted and just got rid of them.

Who was right in this situation ? should I have warded would that have changed anything ? or should they have had mid / top follow me into the blue buff to kill the enemy maokai considering we had the timer and knew he would be there. This way I could ward something more important.

None of you were right. You both made mistakes, though the gold/plat players really have no excuse. But if we look at just what you did, there were three mistakes you made (in my opinion).

Your first mistake was not warding. ALWAYS ward, if for nothing else then it at least gives you the opportunity to go take the enemy buff while he's trying to take yours and/or gank lanes on the other side of the map.

Your second mistake was assuming that your teammates would help you. NEVER engage an enemy unless your teammates give you a clear indication that they're going to help (or you have a good chance of winning solo). This is a general rule no matter what position you play. I can't tell you how many times I've engaged on an enemy and had the ADC/Jungler/etc. either keep farming or literally just walk away. If you ping an enemy and your teammates show no intention of moving to engage, then don't do it (unless you know you can win).

Your third mistake was engaging a Maoki who, I can only assume at this point, is well ahead of you. Engaging him, especially in light of the earlier behavior of your teammates, wasn't the best decision. If he's that far ahead and your team isn't helping you, then all you can really do is hope you can smite steal the buff or make up the difference by lane farming at every opportunity. If your teammates complain (and they will), simply tell them that they didn't help you so you have to make up the gold by lane farming.

Your other teammates just appear to be bad players (I can't imagine a plat mid not helping to protect at least the blue buff). Unfortunately, you ended up looking "worse" because you kept engaging when it was clear your other teammates had no intention of helping you out.
