In regards to hyping new content

So, I always enjoy logging in and seeing news on a champion, or a new skin, or what have you. I do, however find an issue with it, the wait. While, as I said, I do enjoy seeing news over such things, I feel the hype train starts FAR too early. We waited months for , a month for , this is counting from their official announcements, not any fan speculation. And now we're sitting here waiting for the pre-season. The official end of season 3, post-push was now a week ago, with the unofficial end having been about six weeks ago, and I'm just sitting here waiting for the season 4 patch so that I can used to the new content for season four. But why? Why announce things so far in advance, just to leave people waiting? I can't really stand it, and I know I'm not alone.

TL;DR Why make so much hype so long before release dates?

with lucian there were a lot of development problems which delayed his development (i forget where i read that) that wasn't hte case with jinx.

they're patching the season 4 through the pre-season as they're making a lot of changes. i find myself a little impatient with riot because i would have thought they would have patched the preseason when the preseason started. but i think they're again running behind schedule in terms of development and that's the reason for delays.

Riot is very generous in that they communicate so much with the community. sometimes people get annoyed with them. it's ammusing. we're such impatient creatures

so.... this is the first time i've ever logged in to post a reply on the LoL forums... and its for the pure fact that Riot has, for as long as i can remember, given info WAY too early and said now you get to wait... practically saying this: "Here look at all this shiny new stuff, except you cant use it right yet... but it will be ready soon!" then weeks later with the content still not released they put out another post hyping the content with this at the end "it will be coming soon" weeks later again "we're getting close to releasing (insert said content here)" -_- i know they work their asses off but i am one of the many who read soon as in the next week or month... not the next few weeks or months :| personally it effects my mood when the content is finally released making me go "its FINNALY here lets see if it was worth the wait" on a side note they beat Sona with the nerf bat soooo hard it makes me wanna cry...

now that i think about it... they've also been hyping a new champ like it will draw some of the attention from the S4 patch and give them some leeway with the release date (such as players getting impatient) though the issue with that is we pretty much KNOW that he/she WILL NOT come out before the S4 patch and probably NOT EVEN WITH the S4 patch but much later if past releases are anything to judge by :/
