I actually enjoyed playing Support

Don't understand what's with the "Playing Support" hate going on, especially the Autofill threads.

Here's why I enjoy playing Support:

  • I can relax from having to cs properly.

  • Wide range of Support champion which are ez to play (in terms of their mechanics).

  • I can ease my worries for vision, since I can buy my own Sightstone instead of being Top or Jungle.

  • You can just AFK for each 10 seconds in the bush, while taking that one active moment to either poke or protect my ADC from danger.

  • Easier to get the "Tq for reporting" pop-up box due to a common number of Vayne players.

So what's your bone about Support?

I love support as well, but for different reasons. I just like being able to carry with like 0 gold idk its fun lol.

Whenever the game stresses me out, I love picking Soraka, buying item 3301, then chilling with my ADC, making clutch saves across the map, and scaring the enemy laners away with my Qs. (I still run my AP page on her.)

Let's be clear. Very few players enjoy having to CS, but they want to CS because it gives them money to buy their items with. Those gold gen items, runes, and masteries don't give you that kind of gold. So yes, as a support the money comes to you most of the time with little effort outside of poking once in a while or using a relic stack, but it's much less than you'd get if you were actively murdering minions. Most players would rather CS and be rich; because that deathcap is expensive as hell.

There are (mechanically) easy champs in every role. You ever have a WW jungle? He sustains like a god, mindlessly farms until level 6, and then has point and click hard CC gapcloser ganks. Xin hits QW and autos everything. Garen is Garen. Ashe has her own vision, poke that's hard to avoid due to the sheer size of the AoE, and makes kiting very easy. Annie uses Q to farm and only has to hit one ability with her passive charged to land her whole kit. Olaf has one skillshot and it can be reset over and over again. Malphite is your one stop shop for initiation tanking when you have no idea what you're doing. Heimer sets up his turrets and they farm for him. Cait throws down traps and then autos from long range. And those are just the ones off the top of my head.

You have a trinket and control wards in every role. Junglers have an item that has wards on it. And it's not like other roles can't buy a sightstone; in fact, they have more gold flow so it would be easier for them to buy it than supports. 800 gold is significant to a support who's on a gimped gold income, but much less of an investment for someone who is actively farming. And the HP is useful on everyone. Except Soraka. Who buys it anyway.

You can just AFK for each 10 seconds in the bush, while taking that one active moment to either poke or protect my ADC from danger.

If you ever lane as a melee against a ranged laner, you'll be spending a lot of time AFK in a bush or under your own tower. Junglers can AFK in a bush when they come for a lane gank, waiting for the perfect time to strike or back off.

You can still report a toxic Vayne if you're the mid laner. Toxicity doesn't have to be directed at you for you to report it. It helps if it's directed at you to remember to report after the game is over, but if someone is that toxic you'll remember anyway.

What I got from your post was that you like support because you don't have to farm and can stand around doing nothing once in a while. If that's the case, ARAM is where you should be headed. Farming is almost non-existent, you spend large chunks of time just standing around (especially early game), and if you do badly you can easily excuse yourself by saying that you don't play whatever champ you rolled up often.

In addition, modes like Hexakill, Ascension, and Poro King all have nearly no farming to be done and you can chill in those modes fairly easily while saying you're waiting for an ambush. Those are also RGM modes that spring up often.
