I don't understand this at all

i have an exact 50-50 winrate in ranked, yet i lose more than i win in almost every case. most often i gain 17-18 lp, and i usually lose 19-22 lp. i thought it was supposed to calculate your lp gained/lost based on your win rate?

Nope, not win rate. It's based on whether your MMR is higher or lower than the average for your current division. Yours might be just a little bit low.
