Riot- How well do you know your customer?

** The Voice of The Customer:**The most important thing, in any business, is the voice of the customer. We've all heard the say, "The customer is always right". Whether you believe that or not, it definitely leaves something of interest to think about. The problem is, how do you get feedback from the customer? Every business struggles with this. As a customer you want want everything to be as easy and smooth as possible and you don't want to take any more time our of your day with something you're not interested in. Some people believe that if they're interested and playing the game that the obviously like the game therefore they don't see the reason as to why they should help improve the game. As a gaming company, especially with league of legend's platform, you have the advantage. You could offer incentives or build your survey into your platform. You could do a "secret shopper" tactic and play with players in the community to see they're thoughts about league in game or post-game chat. Pop the question, "Whats the most frustrating thing to you about League of Legends besides the champion balance?" What would the customer like to see you implement into the game? Different map skins? More game modes? More champion interactions? More detailed lore? More skins for champions that have less skins? There are ways to improve the game and the company.

Idea: The Good Marks System: Implementing a "good marks system" in League of Legends that also ties to the Forums. Any time you report a negative player causing stress within the community, when you participate in forum discussions, when you dont get reported for bad behavior, or when you get honored by your teammates or the enemy team you get a "mark".These marks would start to accumulate over time and could be used to possibly get discounts on skins, get exclusive skins made available only through the mark system, or get exclusive summoner icons or ribbons or even titles on the forum under the posters name. This would all create an incentive to the otherwise reluctant customer/player that would hep them take the initiative, go the extra mile. Maybe add cool layouts for the players Profile that gain a lot of marks that also shows in their profile how many marks they're accumulated and how many more they'd need for the next reward. Maybe you could tie in the refer-a-friend as well into the marks system. You could add summoner icons for that specific champion the player masters so they could represent their love/pride or passion for that champion and the more points they get in mastery points for that champion, the more icons of that champion they could unlock, i.e champion skins as an icon.

My two cents: The thing that bothers me personally is, it's not easy for me to navigate around in the fourms. I personally found it much easier to navigate around in the old forum layout although this one looks nicer and the improvements on it were nice. It would be nice to see a General discussion tab in the front to make it easier to get to from the get go as it took me 10 minutes to find this discussion page. Maybe I'm just bad. But anyway, that's just a thought.

Disclaimer: This whole post isn't to hound anyone that works in Riot, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to do their job and I don't know the first thing about designing or maintaining a game, creating beautiful map textures or creating amazing works of digital art regarding the world of Runeterra or the Champions that fill the league of legends. This is me trying to help improve the gaming company that I care about. We the community know and see all the constant improvements you're making day-by-day, week-by-week. I personally love the promotion system changes and the strategic value of the brush placements change. We champion reworks and the HUGE lore update coming soon are also amazing. Keep up the good work, Riot.

Conclusion Riot you've made a great MOBA. You have a huge community. And a lot of dedicated players, myself included. We see you're listening to the voice of the customers. And we appreciate it. There's always more room for improvement though and we're rooting for you and we know you can deliver. You're all only human though so of course there will be a few mistake, or a few bumps in the road. coughTeemo cough but don't be discouraged. Thank you Riot employees for all the time and effort you put in every single day. All those days I stayed up too late and didn't go to school or missed work, or cursed out Teemo Satan was worth it. I'm still Silver rank at the moment though, Rito plz. Better nerf Irelia
