I feel bad for Bronze 3-5. Should we make a minimum MMR soft reset so they don't start at bottom?

Since last season, placements are based on your MMR and not just on your 10 placement matches. That means a Bronze can't get lucky and go 10/10 and get put into Plat then getting his ass kicked and slowly going down to Bronze as he ruined legitimate Plat-Gold player games, and a Plat+ can't get unlucky and go 0/10 and be put in Bronze and have to beat on less experienced players until he can get out (if he ever can). At the new season, we also lose some MMR so there is progression to be had instead of sitting exactly where you were before (assuming your MMR was average).

While this probably isn't a big deal for most players, being stuck at the bottom one season and beginning there the next must suck whether you belong there or not.

I say give them a chance. Make a minimum MMR placement so that nobody starts at the very bottom. New players don't even start with MMR that low (average placement is like mid-low Silver). If they really belong in a lower division they'll just end up there anyway, but if they don't it won't be so hard to stay away from it, right?

Who knows? Just an idea.

maybe they can read a build guide then move up

I look at a lot of people's match histories and whether people can intelligently build is always the dividing line

i feel as though even if it did it wouldn't make a huge difference people will fall into a division they belong in sooner or later

People who don't want to be stuck at the very bottom can use their map and trinkets to find their way out.

/pretending that people in gold actually look at the map

What non-bronzies don't realize is that the bronze they remember ios NOTHING like the current state of bronze TODAY. Gone are the days of rising to the top with earnest gameplay and selfless teamwork, washed away by the filthy scum tidal-wave of trolls/feeders/afks/salt lords. You all have no stinking clue what it's like down here these days. The literal "bucket of crabs", indeed. Gnar
