Hello everyone, I'm gonna be blunt. I don't see any kind of reason why you're able to look up friends/people you don't know's games. I have had several problems with that as in invasion of privacy from a few friends over the years on league. I just want other people's thoughts on if you should or should not be able to look up other people's games. In my opinion that is just a massive invasion of privacy that shouldn't be aloud.

Why would it be an invasion of privacy? It's publicly available data that doesn't link back to you with any real world implications. I don't know about you, but I very much doubt any perspective employer is going to look at my KDA, my mastery pages, my rune pages, what champs I play, our who I play with.

As someone developing a stat site based around diving into your own performance, I can say with confidence that it's not about the data but how you use it. There's limitations on what you're allowed to do with the Riot API data. You can't write a program to say "this guy's probably tilting and has a tendency to AFK, gank him a bunch and you could win 4v5" for example. Riot checks sites to make sure they aren't breaking those rules, revoking their access to the API if they do violate their agreement.

If you've got a problem with how someone in your game chooses to behave based on that data, isn't your problem still with that person?

It can help to see if people are in a duo / who is on tilt in ranked games. There are sites dedicated to doing just that.

So you're saying we shouldn't be able to look up who's gonna be camping our lane all game long because they're butt buddies with our enemy laner?

In Boards, checking their profile is a one sure-fire way of knowing when OP is a lying hoe or not.

Example of things he can lie about:

  • being Diamond when he's just Bronze 5.
  • "punished for no reason", match history shows high record of intentionally feeding.
  • "GAREN TOO STRONK, NERF HIM!!". OP plays Teemo against him....
  • and etc.
