Ranked vs Normal MMR

I understand that there is a SR mmr for normals vs ranked, but can it at least take things into consideration? I'm a silver 3 on my main, but just faced 2 platinums. How does that even help me learn anything when a lvl 3 Lee kills me when i'm half and he's full... and I suck too much to know how that happens?
