Seriously how is this not improved yet

Going into the 6th year and your matchmaking is still a joke. I hear people say "that's just norms." Why is this even an acceptable excuse when you have a game that requires at least 20 minutes of my time before I can even try to surrender it? I wish I could say this was the first time it has happened to me, and I've even had the tables switched a couple of games. I don't really get enjoyment out of a straight stomp game in either direction. I get that occasionally it is going to happen and that can't be avoided just because the system itself has to try to place people but this is just ridiculous. These games though aren't even close in nature and it isn't an enjoyable experience. We can't leave or give up because that will just get us banned, and it creates toxicity among the team losing because people want to start pointing fingers, frustrated, or just stop caring altogether and do stupid things.

Ranked mmr and normal mmr are separate. If it was based on player rank you could have an unranked player who plays at a diamond level who'd be placed against bronze and other unranked players.

Accounts have a different MMR for ranked than for normals. So high elo ranked player who never plays normals would have a lower normal MMR.

Here's the thing. DON'T GIVE UP. I was an ADC main before the patch (now I never get it -_-), and now main top lane. I have a fairly high normals MMR, playing with Plats and Diamonds averagely. And honestly, I don't have trouble. Yeah, their more than likely not playing their main role, but it feels really good, and helps your ego, if you smash a Diamond player who made fun of you for your low rank. (Example: I was playing Yasuo, got matched against a Diamond Trynd. He was laughing at me for being Silver. I kicked his ass.)

Look at your teams stats. And your overall mmr is probably that level. That means you are playing at a Plat/Diamond elo

The ranking is separate for a good reason.

Say, if the rankings weren't separate. Riot would have to bar players in bronze from inviting and queuing up with any diamond friends they have, as the bronze players MMR would increase, and the diamond's MMR (might) decrease. It'd also defeat the whole point of ranked, frankly. In other words, it's to avoid any inflation and/or deflation of the MMR of given players that's reflected towards their ranked MMR. While I don't have a single problem with the MMR being separate, I do see your point nonetheless. However, I don't think there's a way Riot could make it a "one way street" when it comes to MMR (Ranked MMR effecting normal MMR, but not the other way around).
