Man I love being judged for my team's actions

Game 1: Carries lose lanes they should be winning, play timidly, may as well be AFK from then on out.

Game 2: Guys... we just saw 4 people with wards. And the rest of your team is pinging you back. Ok I guess that 0-2 was worth it. At least you almost got their... nevermind you weren't fighting over anything.

Game 3: Hey it's 4 minutes in and top is already 0-2. Whatever we can bounce back. Little did I know their mid would soon go 6-0 with no help from their top.

Game 4: Fuck it, I'll just blow off steam with an ARAM. Oh, Ziggs took Mark... and he has AD runes... and he's playing way up on one of the safest champions in game... and he can't dodge anything... aaaaand he's 0-6 and Jarvan's AFK.

Game 5: Up CS, kills, and lane pressure top. Bot lane is 0-8 by 10 minutes.

Game 7: We destroy them in a teamfight, I'm 9-3 on a carry and my team surrenders. Clearly deserved that loss.

League is a absolutely team game. Whether you win or lose depends on you and your team's actions. I get that; that's fine. If I or my teammates under-perform we deserve to lose. What I'm not OK with is having a system then judge me for someone else's performance. If my top goes 0-2 with no help from junglers then we're more likely to lose. Then if we do lose my entire team and I are judged as a worse players because of it, even if we did everything we could. How is that fair or fun?

This is a team game but you are not your team. The only time you should be judged on your team's performance is when you queue as a ranked team, and it's the team itself that has a rating. I want to be judged for my own achievements and my own failings.

Edit: To those of you referencing averages, keep in mind that averages only work for sufficient sample sizes. Then factor in that your teammates change every game and the require sample size goes way up. So no, it's neither fun nor fair.

You're as likely to get the 0-2 top laner as you are to get the 2-0 one. League is a game of averages, so individual games like the one's you're mentioning don't matter in the long run. It may not be a fun system, but it is most certainly fair.

Propose a system that judges a person for their own achievements that:

  1. Puts winning first.
  2. Is suitable for Ranked Solo Queue.
  3. Is abuse free or abuse resistant.

It's fair since if you don't consider yourself to be a terrible player, then the odds of you getting the bad players are lower than the odds of them getting the bad players. The problem is that for skill to average out correctly it can take hundreds of games

I'm not saying that you're wrong, it's frustrating to have the experience of feeling helpless. However, it should be pointed out that in the long run you're being judged by your actions. The impact of specific actions in the game are more complicated than can be directly correlated in the ranked system, so you're never judged based solely on your performance, but neither are you judged entirely on the performance of others.

For instance a highly skilled player who beats their lane opponent in 100% of games will have an advantage that may make them gain LP. However, a player who wins their lane 100% of the time, and ALWAYS has successful roaming to get at least one other lane ahead will have a much bigger advantage because they have a guarantee of DOUBLE the winning lanes that are assured for every game. Personally I like having the complexity, and I like having room for error. Some games I win because I absolutely destroy my lane, roam to another lane and tower dive the enemy there before taking their tower and dragon and getting the team ahead. Some games I struggle or even do terrible in lane and I manage to focus and make huge plays in team fights. I've played games where I went 0-3 in lane bc I was just being really stupid, and then in a team fight manage to pick off an enemy adc/apc and in the same fight body block a skill shot that would have killed our adc, letting me die instead and our team gets an ace. Yeah the second one only happens if someone else goes even in lane and all 3 lanes don't lose, but I think making a great team fight play (or 10 if you get into team fights mid game and consistently win them off your good play) to bring the team back and get an average lane ahead so they can carry you is even more satisfying than being able to beat someone mechanically in lane.

there are after game stats that allow you to judge your own performance. furthermore, the Mastery system basically judges you independent of whether you win or lose as a team.

Yesterday my Vayne got killed by a Bard, They ware both half health when they met, luckily later that game i manged to full a Gnar and a Nautilus to follow me from their base to my base trough the jungle with a 200HP as a Trundle, they even flashed over the wall... while the rest of their team was trying to fend-off super-minions at the nexus turret... Like they don't know what my pillar does or what my W does.

What Im trying to say sometimes the dumb-asses are evenly distributed over teams and matches and sometimes they get clustered by 3 or 4 in single team.

Statistics. If you're better than matchmaking believes, you're going to have a positive impact on your team's performance more often than not.
