Aatrox jungle good or bad? Why doesn't he match his lore?

I haven't been able to play Aatrox jungle, and I would like to know how people do with him. I mean in the higher competitive play specifically, I am targeting draft pick and ranked. Aatrox used to be new, but he isn't old yet; So Riot wont be planning to change anything about Aatrox soon even though he isn't really used D: Another thing I wanted to discuss was how OFF his gameplay was to his lore with this most important section: Aatrox appeared among the ranks of the Protectorate. With but a few words, he urged the soldiers to fight to the last before throwing himself into battle. His presence inspired the desperate warriors. At first, they could only watch in awe as this unknown hero cleaved through their enemies, his body and blade moving in unison as if one being. Soon, the warriors found themselves imbued with a potent thirst for battle. They followed Aatrox into the fray, each fighting with the furious strength of ten until they had won a most unlikely victory. With this, he should be a pro jungler like Jarvan in the least, and yeah he can use cc on enemies to set up combos but then his lore would be: Aatrox had no mercy, as he cleaved the enemies and crippled the hoards of cowards. Aatrox shook the earth under them, sealing they're fate as the Protectorates charged in. His gameplay has nothing to do with actually buffing his allies. In reality hes a if I can go unnoticed I CAN be strong factor for the enemy team to deal with. Aatrox is much more about his constant struggle to sustain his enemies and his own power, and is so predictable he makes Sion look fast. I'm guessing that when Riot made Aatrox, one group was trying to make a all-in-one champion where the others were balancing and tweaking his numbers. And because of poor cooperation it failed to be delivered correctly D: That makes me sad, since he looks so cool and he does have nice skins, but is a joke no matter how I build him, Iv'e tried a lot of different builds top lane. I do love the new Sion, hes a great example of how to do a champion right, he is good at whats he supposed to be, and has very smooth and diverse gameplay. So I wanted to get creative with the community to come up with possible solutions to Aatrox and how he could be smoother, and one idea of mine was to Choose if you want to use his revive passive! If the player could have a three second stasis where they decided whether or not to revive, this would help Aatrox a lot. Common situation: The jungler has ganked, and your Q and E were used to try and escape but are on cooldown now. Neither the top laner, nor the jungler is low on health. You popped your passive, and die instantly, and the passive goes on a MORE THAN 3 minute cooldown! If the player could choose when they wanted to use the passive, then they could make major plays going in with they're jungler and taking the turret shots to ensure the kill. The change is so simple too: Upon taking fatal damage, Aatrox enters a three second stasis in which the player can activate any ability to revive Aatrox, healing him over a brief duration. What do you guys think of that? And what do you think of his lore and gameplay tugging him to two different sides?

ive never seen him played all season 5 and most of season 4, i assume he can jungle because i've watch one match on twitch where a aatrox did pretty well in the old jungle but the new jungle is proably to much for him.

the reason why hes not played is because hes to weak to compete with other bruisers because they can do the same thing as him, only better and or hes to frail to survive early game and since hes a melee champion thats a pretty bad position to be in. people might pick him to counter certain top laners but thats about it

I like Aatrox Jungle, he can sustain after his first clear super well, and even his first clear isnt that rough (I can go Krugs > Raptors > Red > Gank pretty easily) After I get my T2 Jungle Item I either rush devourer or build a Tiamat into Ghostblade. He can clear super quick and his engages are good in ganks as long as you land his Q. Late game he works best as a split pusher who can duel just about anyone. But he can engage in teamfights pretty decently as well as long as your team can followup.

Take advantage of your passive early and apply a lot of pressure at least show yourself in every lane. Landing a Q and E could even get a flash. Later he falls off so just build tanky and be annoying in team fights. He is viable in jungle people just play him wrong
