Downvote Please. Seriously.

Why is the ability to vote without reading a thread even a thing? One sentence can be easily misinterpreted, not to mention it promotes toxicity and a lack of real discussion. It also allows people to troll downvotes with no repercussions. Forcing players to actually open a thread to be able to vote would be a drastic deterrent, as it would make trolling more time consuming, at no cost to the rest of the player population.

I've read 3 threads in the past 10 minutes which were stuck in the -1 to +1 zone despite having half a dozen comments promoting discussion. And what's sad is some of the participants mentioned they upvoted the thread for the sake of countering the troll downvotes, regardless of what side they took.
