Why I think placement matches should not exist.

Hello fellas, gonna try to keep this nice and short. I don't think placements should be a thing in the ranked mode of this game. First, you should just start in bronze. I mean, a majority of actual new players just hop right into ranked matches at level 30 and get placed in bronze anyway. Make people earn moving up in rankings, rather than being carried into silver by a few lucky promo games. The people that do this, and it is the majority of new players that end up in silver, just end up decaying back into bronze anyway. So, there isn't much a difference for them, but there is for their teammates that have to be matched with players that do not belong at said skill level. This brings me into my second point. I don't want to get matched up with players that have just reached level 30 who Riot is "getting a feel if they belong at your skill level". I was just matched up with three provisional players on my team. I am in gold. Three provisional players on my gold team. They had good records, but upon looking them up, they averaged going like 3/7/4, have no cs, and basically don't do anything else that helps the team win lol. Please don't put these players that got carried on my team. The sad thing is, I carried them that game. So next game, they will get matched even higher players when they should be playing against bronze. It is really frustrating to have a provisional player on your team. A third reason is, it will help to reduce smurfs. People always complain about smurfs in this game. I honestly don't care, but it seems like the majority of players bitch about it. If that smurf knew they would have to start in bronze, instead of placing higher, they might not want to make that smurf. I mean, obviously this will cause there to be more smurfs in bronze as everyone will start there instead of skipping it, but I think having to start in bronze will deter some players from making smurfs.

Most of the weight of my opinion is based on the first two arguments. They honestly serve no purpose in making the game a better place in my opinion, and only create a more toxic environment. And let's be real, who didn't love the struggles of being bronze, and the awesome feeling of finally making it out???

Tl;dr: Ranked players should have to start in bronze and work their way up. No more getting provisional players on my gold team.

Thanks for reading. Here is an awesome video to show my appreciation for your time: http://www.brobible.com/girls/article/taylor-swift-victorias-secret-models-blank-space/

You don't want new accounts to start in bronze.

When diamonds make new accounts, you want them to spend as little time as low elo as you possibly can. Every time a diamond player is in a bronze game, the competitiveness of that game is ruined and it's a big waste of time for everyone.

Bump. Game shouldn't revolve around Diamond smurfs.

No. People in Bronze are way worse than new level 30 players hopping right into ranked. The only reason most new level 30 players end up in Bronze is because they don't buy runes because there is nothing in the game that tells them they should, making them have a huge disadvantage.

Some proof to the former claim: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVQlRB3u2Js&list=UUTRsXJ23TtIOXXUq_qS9p9w

Bumps. Six votes isn't exactly a good sample size lol. Lol, I don't think my p-value would be less than 0.05...

so instead of sometimes playing with Bronze level players going through provisional to see if they belong at higher ranks, youd rather constantly play with Bronze level players in order to try and prove you belong at higher ranks?

Idk about people starting off in bronze; a lot of my newer friends still got placed into silver even though they're still somewhat inexperienced.
