Just let this sink in

Let's look at Veigar vs Ekko. One is an immobile, squishy, instaburst mage. The other is an (insert trait here) assassin.

So what do they have?

Veigar

Passive- Mana regen Q - Damaging skill shot + Ap farming tool W- Damaging AoE skill shot (if anyone ever lands it) E - Delayed AoE stun with no damage. Stuns on walls only. R - Single target Nuke

Ekko

Passive- on hit damage + slow Q - Damaging AoE skill shot + slow W - Delayed AoE skill shot that is a slow and a stun. Stuns the entire area. + shield + % missing health damage E - Dash + Blink + Bonus damage R - AoE Nuke + Heal

Now you would probably think, "But Tay Tay, since Veigar's kit has 3 damaging abilities, and a stun while Ekko's has 5 damaging abilities + slow + slow + slow + stun + shield + %missing health + dash + blink + heal, that is fine because Veigar is known for his heavy damage dealing. This new champ has a lot of stuff, but doesn't output as much damage." That is what is so fascinating.

Veigar's Kit in terms of damage

Q - 260 + 0.6 AP W - 320 + 1.0 AP E - 0 R- 500 + 1.0 AP +0.8 Enemy AP

Total = 1080 + 2.6 AP + .8 Enemy AP

Ekko's Kit in terms of damage

Passive - 231 + .7 AP Q - 280 + .8 AP W - 5 + (1.81 per 100 AP) 5 missing health 9% with 500 AP, which lowballing it) E - 170 + .2 AP R - 500 + 1.3 AP

Total = 1181 + 3.0 AP + 9% missing health.

So rito, can someone on your balance team please explain to me why a champion that has a slow + another slow + another slow + stun + shield + %missing health + dash + blink and a heal, also has more damage than a champ with just a stun, and a much weaker stun at that. What is this new bullshit that you are only allowed to be strong if you are also mobile? I thought being mobile was supposed to be a trade off for something. I'm just sick of these new champs coming out that have overloaded kits, while still doing more damage than champs that literally have only damage.

Tl;Dr: Get your shit together, rito.

This isn't any less flawed than the last thread you made.

All of Ekko's damage except his Q requires him to dive into the middle of the enemy team, and unless he saves his ult to blink out he has no escape. His W and ult have to be set up with multi-second delays, and enemies know exactly where his ult will go.

Is he overtuned right now? Maybe. People also don't know how to deal with him yet, and he's got a lot of unusual stuff in his kit.

But he's a high-risk/high-reward assassin. When he does everything right he needs to wreck the enemy team, or else there's no reason to pick him over someone like Zed or LB who's more reliable.

Feels like SexyTaylorSwift just threw down a whole lot of truth...

because veigar gets a shitload of free AP? you know that almost every champ has higher scalings than ekko? obviously not veigar since giving him higher scalings would be ridiculous.... BECAUSE HE GETS FREE AP. do you even common sense?

what irks me the most is riot saying stuff like:

The second question we explored on Ekko was figuring out how we could make an assassin feel good when they’re not one-shot killing targets? We already have kill assassins (Zed and LeBlanc, for instance), so we came up with the idea of a utility assassin. Ekko, like Ashe, has lower ratios and so takes longer to secure kills than most in his role. But where he loses damage, he gains large amounts of CC that he can use to win teamfights even when he isn’t the main damage threat.

Finally, you might be wondering why you’d want to pick an assassin who can’t kill people. That’s actually untrue - if any squishies on the enemy team gets low Ekko can and will find and kill them thanks to the assassin threats that Ekko does retain, specifically his ability to select single targets with Phase Dive before using the execute damage on Parallel Convergence to kill them. Ashe is still a marksman, and Ekko’s still an assassin - they’re just a little different.

they marketed him as trading damage for utility. His damage is overtuned as hell. If you look at his damage by itself, it's extremely high; at the same time, his utility stuff is just TOO much. His passive gives an 80% slow for 3 seconds that DOESN'T decay per second, and he simultaniously gains the same amout of movespeed, again, not decaying.

I mean, honestly, if I was trying to make a joke overloaded champion, he probably wouldn't be as ridiculous as ekko

Lets compare totally different champions!

What about Veigar ult being point and click, and Ekko being 4 seconds behind him. Getting hit by Ekko ult means you really aren't looking at the position of his shadow. Not saying Ekko is balanced with his ratios, your comparison to point and click and extreme delayed skillshots is just bad.

Assassins are overpowered. They always have been, and that's just fact. However, I do believe that the recent changes to the meta (i.e. tank meta being introduced) have thrown off the tilt of the game, where assassins are there to counteract the carries. Tanks are just too tanky for assassins to burst down, so I think Riot wanted a little meta-shift by introducing an insanely high-burst assassin, and thus, the creation of Ekko.

Upvoted for visibility. I knew riot's balance team was pure garbage but this drew the line. Ekko, the new broken/overloaded champion. At least increase the god damn bans
