What the Actual Fuck Riot

So I sent Riot Games a support ticket asking if they could remove my ability to type anything in game or at least let me unbind my enter key in-game so I can't type anything. This is because most of the things I DO type to my team are negatively taken or I can't express my self in a way that doesn't make me seem like a douchebag, and I admit it. I'm not going to sit here trying to make my self seem like some kind of White Knight and how ohhh the system has wronged me. I'm toxic and I admit it. So I sent them a support ticket about this and this is what they said:

Hello Summoner,

Restricted chat is only applied to account as a result of an extensive audit of toxic behavior. We don't apply it until it is deemed necessary.

While I can’t restrict chat on your account, I’d be happy to share some tips and advice on how to avoid toxic situations in the future!

First, be sure that [All Chat] is turned off so you won’t see messages from the enemy team. You can do this by going to the Options Menu, and selecting “More Options”.

You should also check out the Summoner's Code if you haven't. The Code is intended to help players maintain perspective on why we're all playing League of Legends, what we hope to gain from it, and how we want to be treated while we're a part of the community. You can find it here:

Player Support Specialist Roles: Fill except Mid

Lmao what the actual fuck. Most of the support ticket responses are just copy pasted paragraphs and are completely useless. I mean look at the advice he fuckin gave me. " Turn off /all chat and uhhh read the Summoner's Code!" Thanks Coach! You sure told me! Rofl, completely ignored what I said about how I can't resist typing back to my teammates or making them feel just as bad as I am feeling when I'm not having the best game. This isn't a rant about me being positive or negative, this is a rant about how their support ticket system is completely garbage and don't even address anything you said.

Riot Lyte if you're out there, pls remove my privilege to type anything in game so I don't negatively impact the game I'm in until I feel like I'm mature enough to have that privilege back.

TL;DR Fuck the support ticket system.

The advice isn't bad at all but it definitely doesn't fit your question. It would be nice if everyone had a "Mute Me" button.

Well the replies from Riot support have always been shit its just fact. However at the same time in this instance you should have the self control not to chat when its unnecessary.

Lol so actual TL;DR BE A HUMAN BEING AND LEARN TO CONTROL YOURSELF. lol The support system may not be perfect, but its not terrible simply because Riot won't babysit you on an issue that is not their problem in the slightest. You sound like you need a) to grow up, b) to grow up, or c) GROW UP AND LEARN HOW TO INTERACT WITH OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.

Based on this post I'd say they are doing you a favor. You should /mute all at the beginning of every game, and only communicate through pings. If you are chat restricted, you should think about making drastic changes before you lose your account.

Lol until you've actually done technical support for a company you have no grounds to complain, also the support technician answered your question and provided multiple solutions.

Instead of acting like a spoiled brat why don't you work on that toxic behavior and reflect on your thoughts, you might end up finding a solution instead of complaining about problems.

Riot have had multiple conversations in the past and have generally decided to not deal with this at the current moment. You shouldn't have expected anything from the copypaste team.

During these conversations they suggested a workaround that involves going into the folders: Riot Games > League of Legends > Config > PersistedSettings In that notepad file, the first few settings are to do with the chat. You can modify the size of the chatbox through the X and Y variables, or mess with the transparency. Your aim is to make the chatbox so small that it is nonexistent. You can already mess with the transparency in game, so try that as well.

Instead of unbinding ENTER, just rebind it to your mastery emote (control 6)
