Having to build utility items, making you a slightly larger minion who gives auras and does no damage Having to put wards everywhere. and being the only one doing so. Never being able to get kills, because your team rages.

Why does every role have to be making flashy plays and getting kills? If you don't like it, that's up to you, but that doesn't mean it needs to be changed.
I may not be a big fan of supporting... but I sure do love "supporting"!

That's your opinion, and I like supporting, so that's my opinion.

There are plenty of people that like to play support just fine. I like playing the vision / vision denial game and don't really mind playing at a gold disadvantage. Plenty of supports actually do really respectable damage and the ones that don't do a lot usually have something else about them that is powerful.
When you're playing with decent players you aren't the only one warding, hell some junglers commonly buy sightstone or ward heavily. I don't really get yelled at for getting kills either, people have only ever gotten upset if it was blatantly taken and they get mad at anyone for that.
I see more people actually call support than jungle right now, kind of interesting.
Support is like the perfect role for me, because I rarely get kills as any other role anyways. Might as well play the role where you're supposed to get assists instead of kills!
I love playing support but you will start to hate it if you have a demanding adc team who will blame you for EVERYTHING
eg. I do really hate how all the vision pressure is put on sups. I often have adc who say ward entire map within one minute it's just not possible meanwhile they don't even use their own trinket until you can afford sight stone...
Sup is super fun sometimes can bait easily and keep entire team alive but when team puts all pressure on a sup then it gets to much we can't save you all so basically don't be a d*#k to sups otherwise people won't play the lane. Unless the sups are a troll, they will always do best to support which ultimately makes it a fun role to play <3
This might be news to you, but there are a LOT A LOT of support mains out there. Supports are meant to make plays, not deal damage. Supports are meant to peel, not kill.
Maybe when you will start climbing once you start appreciating support more.
I like support. I play a reactive-style of it, taking raka, nami, bard or brand. Others prefer taking the first action with Thresh Blitz or Leona. There is a lot to manage as a support, and if you don't do it, your team will likely lose. You're not just watching the map for your lane, you should be keeping an eye on mid (and top if he wards) as well. You don't have to focus on cc as much as the other lanes, so you can give them the heads-up they need to run when the enemy jungle appears.
If you were to ask me, Jungle and ADC and top are dull.
