Is it wrong to tell someone who's constantly speaking a foreign language to not play on NA?

So I get into a game and immediately three of my team mates start speaking what I could swear was gibberish. Me and my other team mate ask if they could speak english because we don't understand. They say nothing and continue. I mute them accordingly because I can't understand them anyway. The game proceeds and the entire time they are always doing their own thing, my team mate and I took 6 towers and 2 inhibs, they took not a single objective. We ended up losing because of any lack of teamc coordinate (Even though I got a very close backdoor as trynd but was shut down seconds before nexus died) When the game ended my team mate and I said to report our team members because they wouldn't communicate they were speaking spanish or something.

The support immediately spoke up and said "We understand just fine and its (whatever people from the philipines speak) so I told her that she shouldn't be on NA if she doesn't want to speak english and that her inability to communicate cost us the game.

Was this wrong?

To be straight I have no issue with people playing on NA just speak english so we can work together

English is not the official language of North America. Considering chat is completely optional, who cares what language people speak? Most things can be communicated through pings anyway.

Before LAN came up this was common, but it comes down to how much communication do you need? Ping often, play smart.

I think you were in the right. If they want to speak in a language not native to the server, they should organize a full team. Speaking a foreign language prevents communication and can negatively inpact games.

umm, if its anything other than french english and spanish, i guess you could, but there isnt much of a point.

It sounds like they weren't communicating, which is reportable. But communicating in another language is totally fine. Like a few other people have said, pings and map awareness are really enough to build teamwork on, words are just a bonus.

So yeah, it's wrong to tell people not to play on NA just because they speak another language, but if someone won't communicate or work with you at all, vocally or otherwise, then you can go ahead and report them for refusing to communicate with the team
