False Reports

I am curious as to how effective the reporting system is, specifically, false reports. I was in a game where my team did very bad, I asked to surrender and I was hit with "never surrender" I tried many many many times throughout the game because we were being completely out played and my team refused to admit it. I did get a bit salty with my team because I was doing very well and felt we could win but their refusal to preform basic mechanics like warding and team fighting lead to an inevitable loss. Three of our team mats were 1/11 and only the ADC and myself the support were positive I had 20 assists and the jungle had eight kills with the adc having twelve but thirteen deaths. I was rightly reported after the game for saying "you guys suck" which was my fault.

BUT after that game I entered a game and immediately muted the entire ally team, said nothing all game except to a jungle who taxed my lane after not ganking once despite me having a lot of trouble as leblanc top a role I was forced into btw So after the game the enemy team was blaming me saying I was negative, I was making my team lose, the entirety of both sides were blaming me when I said nothing and just tried to play the role I was given. So naturally I was reported and got a warning for negative behavior. I just have to ask..why does this type of peer bullying work?

Has it worked, though? The in-client warnings exist as a sort of "check-up" system, intended primarily to help players who are normally be positive or neutral to recognize that they may be going on tilt.

They aren't verified by the system (although players with low report weight don't trigger them as effectively), and aren't reviewed, because there's no punishment associated with them. It's the one part of the system that is genuinely triggered purely by reports.

So - back to the question - has it worked? Outside of the psychological effect (which is beyond Riot's control), has it had any effect on you?

From what I've seen the times Riot talks about the report system and the associated punishments, reports are received and people get those notifications from the automated system, but actual Riot employees investigate cases that aren't obviously false reports (verbal abuse when they never said anything in chat, etc.) and issue punishments manually. And while there are definitely gameplay reasons to get reported, like intentionally feeding, I don't think they ever issue punishments for muting your team and them getting salty. Just make sure you're still communicating with pings and posturing and such.

The warning is based off reports only. The warning is only triggered off a lot of reports. This does not mean that you're about to get chat banned. If you haven't done anything wrong, you are NOT about to get chat banned. If you have, then expect a chat ban if you keep up the behavior. YOU WILL NEVER BE CHAT BANNED IF YOU DONT DO ANYTHING WRONG. Warnings and chat bans are triggered by different things.

Also, depending on what you said to the jungler that game, the reports may have been deserved.
