Leaver Buster Too Strict?

I'm all for a strict enforcement of queue dodgers and afkers but this is too far. I missed a bot game queue pop because LoL didn't put itself on top when the queue popped like it usually does. Last I knew if you simply don't accept a queue pop there's no punishment because it doesn't delay others much at all unlike a dodge.

I understand if you don't accept 3 or more times in a short time period then maybe you're trolling or not paying enough attention and shouldn't be able to queue for a couple minutes but just one failure to accept? One queue pop miss for a bot game of all things and I get a 5.5+ minute unable to queue penalty?! That's a bit too strict in my opinion. It's not a history of issues either. I think I dodged one game one time more than a year ago.

Anyone else with similar experiences of it going too far, particularly from just not accepting a queue pop?

I experience bull shit Leaver Buster punishments all the time, too, but not from queue pops.

Sure, I deserve to get a horrendously long waiting penalty with a window that is poorly designed (that's for another thread) half of the time, but with the other half, it's complete bull shit.

Here's the problem:

When you leave the game for a short amount of time, it shouldn't be such a huge punishment, especially if you win the game or your team understands afterwards. LeaverBuster straight up smashes penalties up your bum hole regardless of how long you were gone or how you impacted the game.

Here's the solution:

LeaverBuster punishments should be controlled entirely by the players. At the end of the game, there should be some sort of voting poll of whether or not to penalize the little squirt who prematurely left the game when they needed him (or her #genderequality) most. This way, the players are given more representation and can show exactly how much the suspect ruined the game by leaving.

All in all, I think your penalty should be judged by your team, not by some retarded system that knows nothing and penalizes people even when your team is literally praising you. Please Riot, fix this piece of crap.

There are a lot of issues with letting players decide things like that Friesguy5467. I won't bother going into them but I'm not sure it's the right solution. Minor tweaks to how LeaverBuster works would help a lot though for very little cost. It doesn't need massive nuance, just some "lets keep it reasonable" tweaks. Beyond that is debatable but maybe worth while.
