Please Stop Complaining About Free Champ

Riot provided you with a prize being a random free champ in the pool party event. This was meant to get more people involved in the event and as a community we got enough points to get a free champ. Yes, you may receive someone you don't want, but remember there is always a chance to get a mystery prize during or at the end of the season. Also, they don't have to do this; complaining gives them less incentive to actually do something like this again.

P.S. I got Talon for my free champ, but I play ADC's, support, jungle, and top; still happy that's one less champ i need to spend IP/RP on.

I own all the champs, got Battle Regalia Poppy.

I now have three Poppy skins.

Random Mystery Gifts seem to be telling me to main Poppy.

It wasn't free. It was earned. And mystery rewards you earn are a recipe for sadness.

If you hate bananas and I walk up to you out of nowhere and give you a banana and insist you take it your only reason to be grateful is "it's the thought that counts." Now imagine doing something to earn a random fruit from me and you end up getting a banana as your random fruit (you still hate bananas in this scenario).

You aren't going to be very happy about it are you? You're gonna end up thinking about all the other fruits you could've gotten instead. You're going to wonder why there wasn't a better rewards system in place that perhaps gives some measure of guarantee that you actually get something you'll like, even if it isn't your favorite. I mean why even give out random fruit when you can give out non random fruit? Some people might even feel envious of the people who got a fruit they really like and wonder "where's the fairness in that?"

P.S. Yes I know the reasons why Riot would rather give out random champions. Yes it's mostly greed.

My only complaint is that it required linking with another 3ed party social media service with spotty privacy privacy practices and historically poor security standards. Even though they already encourage associating the accounts/services (Riot Girl Tristana).

I don't know about this. Considering Riot's Biggest Competitor already gives you all their champions for free, it really isn't anything to be boastful about. A free skin, sure, I appreciate those at every moment Riot awards us one. I was totally pumped for that free Good Behavior, skin a while back.

But a free champion, that's different. It says something about the game where you have to be "grateful" to get content you should already have access to.

2 Issues I had with this.

I was gifted DJ Sona skin
It told me I Had no champs left to be gifted.
I have owned DJ Sona skin since the day it came out.
I don't have Ekko?

I was pretty hyped, im usually pretty unlucky (got blacksmith poopy from Rito's first mystery gift) but this time I got super fucking lucky and got Zombie Brand.

dude u get talon u should be happy. i got fucking quinn along with the other 50% of the population that got a "free champion" even friend got her to. pretty sure riot jsut wants to make non-neta champion meta with this "free champion" when 10000000000000000 people get Quinn
