Help with streaming?

So, I need some help with setting up a Twitch stream. I don't want to be anything big, but sometimes my friends want to watch me play, and I figure, why not start a small stream I can put up weekly or something? I don't know what software is good for newbies though, and I don't want to have to pay for it if I'm just being a small-time 5-viewer stream. Help? I tried OBS, that didn't work with my computer. :c
