How do you get a thumbnail for your post?

Finest Support··2 votes·464 views

I have read in the web that the first visible picture on your post will be your thumbnail , however i have made several posts with pictures (imgur) and Gifs and there is never a thumbnail. Could someone teach me to do it? Thanks in advance.
