Just logged in to find that Riot Games has mystery gifted me a free skin. I got Warlord Shen, which is cool since it also unlocked Shen for me :)

It did? I thought you could only get skins for the champions you currently own?

no they said specifically that you had to own the champion to get a skin for it.
