I cry because Pokémon has gotten duller than it use to be with it's cheesy "childish" nature it's moved to since 4kids. Pokémon use to show Ashe as he should be, an idiot becoming a master. Now we just see an immortal child leaving home and never returning while leaving everything we cherished about it in the dust.
Examples include:
- Misty is the first to leave us as the guys at Pokémon felt that they needed to make something to bring in more viewers. But was never brought back until a almost bring-back with May (which would had been awesome) but they decided not to, to the disappointment of many. She came back again but only as a cameo in a short movie. (Tracy did not though.)
- Lets be honest, Brock stayed in the series for a long time but now they've just messed with him so much, it wasn't hard to say goodbye. He use to be a guy who was just following Ashe like Misty to help him because lets face it, Ashe really wasn't smart when it compared to a lot of things. But as it continued on, the "Bond between Pokémon and humans" got so old. They keep it in there ever since Hoen which, lets be honest, had a good vibe going for the first few episodes but quickly dwindled bellow Jotto. So when he left to be a Doctor like Gary, I really didn't mind it. I didn't like it but I was like, "hey, Ashe can now finally travel alone."
- Gary was the best rival, no compassion. He and Ashe had history. But when they replaced him... And replaced the next one with a new one I just gave up. (The newest one is the worst. I mean, he just began to use Pokémon and he beat Pikachu? What are those animators thinking?)
- Original Pokémon should still be some of the only Pokémon. They are just in it for the money now. Examples include remodeled versions of old Pokémon. Also, Charmander fully evolved yet Squirtle and Bulbasure have yet to evolve once. So yeah, I'm mad about that. Pikachu has drastically changed in appearance and personality. Also, I'm waiting for that random Lighting Stone to fall off a cliff and hit Pikachu.
- May and Max are on the list because we hardly saw them. And it was May who had the balls to go out on her own since she at first was afraid of Pokémon. Max is doing what kids should do, not put their lives in danger going around doing dumb things exploring. Isn't he just 8?
- Tracy was only in a small add-on season in Kanto. Barely known of, he was in the background after Brock came back from his time with a Professor who turned him down (more than likely due to age). But now he isn't there anymore.
- Original Ashe was the best Ashe. He grew up, learned, and didn't talk like a he was teaching kids on PBS. He didn't just go to places to check stuff out or be a hero, he just went in blindly or on accident. Sometimes due to misunderstandings. He wore his best get-up which was the checkmark hat, his blue jacket and black shirt with jeans and black shoes with green gloves. You know, the typical 90's wardrobe. And the signature hat twist. Ah. When I saw that the 5th region's series would try and bring back these things, I was like "heck yes" but was disturbed by this... Ashe is 10 still? That makes no sense. Pikachu shrunk in size and he's brighter. Why does he need new clothes and why does his mom has to make them yet they can just run to a store in that world? I remember in Pokémon 3 the movie's bonus short, in Jotto I might add, Ashe made Pikachu a party to celebrate their year anniversary or should I say it, Ashe's birthday.
Pokémon was the best cartoon I watched as a kid. And looking back at the originals makes me still believe it to be better than these childish new ones. After Pokémon Chronicles, it went further and further down-hill.
