League of Legends Card Game Advice
Hi there,
I'm just about to finish my first year in computing science. I'm starting to look towards building my resume. Since I am unable to intern (for reasons), the next best option is to build a portfolio.
Anyway, I was thinking to creating a League of Legends card game and I would like your help to brainstorm ideas on the rules. The game would just be for my portfolio, but I will contact Riot to see if they would allow me to share it once it is done (not for profit).
My idea:
-
5 champs as main cards - player picks who they want pre-game. They will not change throughout the game. A player must slot a minimum of 3 champs to start. Two can be hidden and slotted at a later time without suffering the move penalty.
-
Champions take 1 turn to move to adjacent lane (two to move from far left to far right)
-
AP/AD/Tank are different cards (AP Cho'Gath and Tank Cho'Gath will be separate) so people can "break the meta"
-
Once a champion dies. They must sit out for X rounds. The number of rounds will depend on how many total turrets are destroyed. Not sure on exact numbers yet.
-
kills/assists get gold. champs must spend gold to equip items (Available to everyone. Not quite sure how this would work)
3 lanes each with turrets (ignore the '.' I don't know how to format that properly) O O O |...|...| O O O \ / .\ / ..O O ... \ / .... O
Your hand would consist of:
-
Summoner's spells as "instance" spell
-
Activated items (BotRK, Zhonya's, etc)
-
Minions (you summon which minions go down which lane)
-
Special event stuff that Riot has created in the past (Urf steroid, all-for-one stuff, etc)
-
Some other things. Seem to be missing something else.
-
Note, Baron and Dragon will be contestable. They will award game-like buffs.
You must destroy the nexus
I'm looking for advice on above OR a completely different game that sounds awesome. I'm not much in terms of creativity, so completely open to ideas.
THANKS!
Edit: Thank you Elite4Runner for the comment on the post I made in Memes & Games that was deleted for some reason
