ive played league a while, and i love bard, best champ riots made in ages, ridiculously fun, very useful, just a great design overall, now ever since ive started, well id like to say maining him, ive never been blamed so much in my life. every game something goes wrong, its instantly my fault. and i realize i mess up ultis, its hard to get a perfect ulti but for every 1 ulti i mess up i make sure i sent out 8 better ones. i get i miss q's its a pretty difficult skillshot in all seriousness but when it lands... oh boy does it lead to great things.

i guess what i really want to know, why do you hate bard? why is it so easy to blame lost games on him?

He got a bad rep for super low base stats on release so everyone hates him even though Aphromoos been killin it in the LCS with him

He is fat, old, formal, intelligent, powerful, has good sense of dressing taste and has kids surround him all the time,

It tickles the jelly bomb you see...

people pick on Bard because when you mess up with him it is much easier to tell that you messed up.

"Oh, hey, you accidentally ulted me in the middle of their team instead of just their team. way to go Bard"

Where if someone else messes up, like a Sona missing her ult, it's just "wow, you whiffed your ult" or someone like Leblanc "Wow, you didn't instagib their carry"

Bard has a hard time because his kit is pretty telegraphed to both teams which makes it that much cooler or that much sadder when you either succeed fantastically or fail hard.

apart the reasons above, Bard has the potential to be noticeably bad (or good) in additional ways other than simple feeding, so people who like to blame others have extra reasons to blame Bard.

plus, he bounces about like he just doesn't care. if somebody is losing and wants to blame it on others, his body language is just irritating.

Bard is infamous as Riot released him nerfed compared to the OP states of new champs like Ekko and Rek'Sai.

You lost me at "very useful". Let's look at his kit

  • 1 crappier version of lux Q with potential stun. Probably not peeling with this thing
  • 2 other crappy skills that can't peel, cc or do much of anything well
  • 1 mostly crappy ult that probably won't peel anything either and can fuck your own team hard

About sums it up.

My friends make fun of me for playing Bard, constantly calling him a bad champ and how I never do well with him, even though whenever I play with them they don't know how to play the lane with Bard and just think it's Bards fault for being Bard and having no damage or something

Bard is a well designed champion, but Riot executed his release poorly.

He was the only "new" champion that wasn't a tremendous boon for whatever team he is on. Personally, Bard release week was probably the 2nd worst week of League, just behind the Ryze re-work with the infinite damage manamune then the infinite slows.

People didn't know how to play Bard, and even then, his stats were mediocre. Unlike most champion who were released with borderline OP stats such as Ekko or Rek'sai to make for players' inexperience with them, Bard came with no extra stats and one of the highest learning curves for a support champion.

It felt more like a dead weight than an advantage to have Bard on a team. Magical Journey and Tempered Fate has just a high chance of screwing your team over as does the enemy's. His Q was alright, but the heal costed so much mana that most heals simply out-classed it.

Seeing a new Bard players practice this champion was painful. I vividly remember losing the first game I played on Bard release week because the Bard over-estimated his heal and used his ultimate in a terrible location. The experience still lingers with me whenever I see a Bard. Even though I know he is a cool champion now, he was just so frustrating to deal with for an entire patch for me.

In my experience, Bard players mean well but they don't have the timing or communication to make him work with pugs.

Words cannot describe how many times an allied Bard has blue-balls'd me of a kill or, better yet, gotten me killed.

While these mistakes and missteps are annoying, I can't be mad at him. He stuns people so easily and helps me jungle during the early game with those blessed healpacks.

Because unlike most champions- misusing your abilities will not just bone you, but your team as well.

Think Anivia- good walls are good and bring success, bad walls are bad and bring rage. Bard does that with two abilities instead of one- and his ult is arguably far more rage-inducing than her wall.

Because 99% percent of the bards you see usually troll their own team. So basically bard players are making a bad rep for themselves

Please people, please...

Don't judge a bard exclusively on his ultis. It's the easiest thing to see, but it's the hardest one to use. And there is always that retard who flashes/dashes into it after you throw it then blames you.

Judge a bard on his Q accuracy and how well he portals.
