Threats and how they need to be handled

So recently I was in a game with a particularly sour Vi on my team, on multiple occasions this player threatened to hack my friend and take money from his bank account. Now I am well aware that as far as empty threats go this one is right up there with "I know where you live and I will kill your family" and tbh I thought the whole exchange was rather funny, that being said there are people on league of legends who are rather daft when it comes to these kind of things and may take it seriously and possibly even be afraid that being said I do not believe that this kind of behavior is acceptable and I sternly believe that these players must be punished. So I have a question, will she even be punished? 3 people reported her but I do not know if she will be punished as the system currently in place may not pick up on the fact that she did anything wrong please correct me if I am wrong.

meh. if ur dumb enough to get threatened by something like that, you probably aren't even old enough to play, or just the average LoL player. rofl

What an idiot ^^^^^^

but uh, probably not. Riot doesn't do things hands on, and the automated system only works if you're reported a lot? i think. It's stupid.

  1. report the player after the game. that gets the player into the system.

  2. if you think the player was serious about it, file a support ticket with info about the player, the game, and any screen shots you may have taken of the the chat. File it under "I have a Question" => "General" since there's no dedicated report a player category. It'll get forwarded to the right department and they'll look at it.
