Why do trolls have all the power in this game?

Why is it that a single player can ruin your game, waste your time, hold your entire team hostage if they don't get their way... but if you just afk to not have to deal with it... YOU get punished?

What sort of backwards system is run this way? My last match I got a person who decided to go AP caitlyn as support. They did nothing but place traps and flame the adc. They didn't peel. Ward. Anything. Cait accomplished nothing, as the enemy was smart enough to simply AVOID the traps. She DID feed like crazy though and also dragged the adc down with them too when the enemy wisely decided to just 4 man gank bot every five minutes. Caitlyn did nothing but hide and flame the adc for "getting caught" when 4 people dove her under tower.

Oh, but make the mistake of saying anything to ANYONE in chat and BAM! You are now the target of EVERYONE. The enemy team thought it was quite hilarious and decided to ALSO verbally abuse the adc all match for DARING to ask them in chat to report the obviously trolling cait. God forbid that we report the person ruining people's games. No. Let's all flame, mock, insult and act like jerks to the person who says something. So the game finally ends after many, many failed ff attempts and the enemy has a good hard laugh. The adc gets reported, of course... and Cait gets to dance off to ruin other games as she pleases. JUSTICE.

Who the hell designed this system? The community is immature and AWFUL and I'm sick of seeing a pile of children all bully one person if he dares to say anything. The adc didn'y insult anyone. Said nothing offensive or degrading. No toxic names. No racial slurs. No anything. She made ONE request in /all that the enemy team report the troll for trolling. That was all it took to set these jerks off and then they went go OUT of their way to insult, belittle, mock and generally just act like spoiled brats to one person who had done nothing wrong. It's bullying and it's really, REALLY toxic and it happens in EVERY game. But the person who will be punished isn't them. No. It's never them. And yes, the adc in question was me. It changes nothing. 5 kids spend 40 minutes being toxic as they could because I asked them to report a troll. Then the troll AND probably those other jerks all reported me and... that's it. That's the end of the story.

So the option are, let cait troll you in silence, wasting your time and doing absolutely NOTHING about it.... or speak up and have the enemy all report you as WELL? This game is full of bullies and they have ALL The power. But are they punished? No. Their victims are for getting angry or saying something about it. Why the HELL is this allowed to happen?

I have personally never seen a circumstance where a player was generally acting out against his teammates where the opponents team started attacking players that were just asking for a report after the game. That being said, I have also only seen people actively trying to ruin their teammates games in only a half dozen games or so in my 2.6k games played.

Most times people are calling out against a teammate it is just because they are playing poorly, which is NOT the same as intentionally feeding.

I don't know what to think when I see threads like this. I don't deal with trolls or intentional griefers in almost any of my games. I never feel the need to clamp down because talking might get me reported. In fact I never worry about getting reported at all and as far as I know no action has ever been taken against me. This goes for all of my friends that play league as well, and some of them are far more vocal than I am and often talk extensively with the enemy team.

You speak of systemic issues that are so prevalent throughout the league community that it is 'full of bullies and they have all the power' and ask why it is allowed to happen. My answer is simply that it doesn't.

Honestly I am surprised that Riot is pretty slow on bans, since this is a free to play game. Most others will ban people just for the sake of thinking rude since unless you paid in some form, you weren't worth the warnings.

While it isn't impossible to change your ip and get back in the game, most people wouldn't bother to go out of their way to figure it out just for a game. I can understand a bit of flaming, that comes naturally to competitive games, but trolling is pushing over the top. But alas Riot will do nothing since in their eyes, anythign they do can be taken advantage of said trolls so leave it as it is.

Seems a large % of the community doesn't really understand what " toxic " is. Riot is a bunch of goofs, I've been playing this game for 5 years, and this is my first season ever getting diamond, but it's also the first season I've gotten banned. There were a few games here and there during an extremely turbulent ranked series that I just lost my patience, and now all the years I've worked to get this far has been taken away, I'm not a toxic wing-nut, I'm a human being, I have thoughts and emotions. Trolls run this game, trolls cost me my rewards, it's sad really, and then you got Riot Lyte with his PhD in boneheadolgy whips out a derpy policy that ruins it even more
