Gnar Is Literally the Most Annoying Champion In the Game
Seriously, I quit playing toplane just because of Gnar. You have to permaban Gnar in order to enjoy playing in toplane, because if he's not banned and you're not first pick, you're limited to playing Lissandra or having high skill on Irelia, or you're screwed toplane. So much for Riot's "diversity". cough Lee Sin cough
Gnar has a huge amount of CC, the ability to chase you or kite you until you die, duel your ADC or APC, all while still being tanky. In mini: He has a long range hop that lets you escape immediately or catch up to someone, especially if they blink away. He has a Q that's up as soon as he catches it beyond level 6. He has a W that makes it to where if you get caught by his Q, not only are you slowed, but he gets a movement speed buff to make sure you don't escape (or catch up to him).
In mega: He has a 3 second stun followed by a 35% slow that lasts as long as it takes for you to pick up the boulder again, and is immediately the second you pick it up. All while still doing ridiculous amounts of damage and being tanky/impossible to kill. Just to explain, his ult is 1.75 second stun, his W is a 1.25 second stun, and his slow lasts a long time (Can't specify atm) plus pretty much resets when you pick it up. He gains a ridiculous amount of damage, health, armor, and magic resist.
He literally turns around an entire teamfight just by being in the jungle, and if you don't believe me, watch TSM vs CLG this past weekend. They had the fight pretty much won, but as soon as Zion got mega available, he hopped over the wall and took out half of everyone's health, securing three kills and declaring the fight a tie. And if you've ever played against a Gnar, you'll know what I mean when I say you can't escape if he catches you by his Q. He throws Q, you're slowed, he autoattacks you twice by the time the slow is gone, he gains movement speed, has his Q up again by the time those autoattacks are done, so you're slowed again, gets another two autoattacks off, repeat the process enough and you're dead. Or if you're chasing him, slow, orb walk for two autoattacks, repeat, dead.
And what does he lose in mega? What "balances" him overall? Just loses movement speed, and the fact that you can barely control his passive apparently makes him "balanced".
I have no more words. I've explained it all. Gnar is bullshit and that's all there is to it.
