I just came out of a game

Where I was reported because my "build sucks". What was it?

Chogath item 3725 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 item 3083 Top lane

And the fact that I didn't take Teleport.

Now here was the 1 thing that pissed me off the most: THIS WAS A NORMAL GAME

Of my 4 teammates, there was only 1 who didn't want to report me for going full HP Cho' Gath, the rest berated me the whole game saying stuff like "go play bots" "you're uncarriable" "this cho is so bad". And this got me thinking, is it really Riot's fault that there are so many trolls in this game, or is it us as a community that is just shit. Please don't start a shitstorm.

I don't understand why you would build that though. There are plenty of other items that give nearly as much HP and give other stats / passives that overall will result in a better build.

The problem you're having is you don't understand that some people play normals to win / compete. Especially normal drafts. Some people just don't like ranked. Maybe they occasionally have computer problems and don't want to risk hurting their allies. Maybe they want to practice some champions that they aren't great at yet (but they're still trying to win). Doesn't matter the reason, the expectation is that normal games are meant to be fun / less competitive than ranked, but THEY'RE STILL MEANT TO BE COMPETITIVE.

There are custom games for pulliing out troll builds and doing all-around nonsense. Grab a few friends and do it on your own time. Don't force 9 random strangers to deal with your craziness... and if you are going to bring it in to a normal game, tell them before hand so they can dodge if they're not okay with it. You don't want them to dodge? Well tough tomatoes, they don't want to play with you.

All else aside, Riot can and should make a 'troll' queue or a 'messing around queue' (and a 'playing this champ for the first time queue'). That way people who don't have any friends to make a custom game with can pull this craziness out when they want to in an appropriate environment. Unfortunately, the reason they don't is probably because they expect there will be players that just want to stomp and will go in to that queue with their mains... (although those players could be banned from using that queue only if they're found to repeatedly bring in their usual champions and play them as they usually do in these queues. I think that'd solve your problem at least.

And yes, this is coming from a person who played probably 300 normal draft games before starting ranked. I took them very seriously - they were entirely preparation for ranked. I never thought I was ready. Having started playing ranked I take normal drafts a lot less seriously now (e.g. I'll pick a jungler I've played twice even though my main is available, or pick an off-role even though my main is available), but once in game I still make every effort to give my team the best chance at winning (and only do worse because I'm not as good with the champion/role I picked as I would otherwise be).

There's a line between off-meta building and straight up trolling. That is a troll build, and I would be reporting you too for it. It is not Riot's fault that there are trolls in this game. Hilariously enough, you don't seem to be aware of the fact that YOU were the troll in that game.

I don't care if it's normal or ranked. There is no excuse for willingly wasting 9 other peoples' time just so you can play something completely idiotic. (Not calling YOU an idiot. Just your build and attitude.) Keep those kinds of builds to bots or customs.

Only thing I have to say is if you're gonna fool around let the team know in advanced. Be considerate. That is all, good day.

"Normal" != "You can dick around and do whatever you want without trying to win". When you queue up for matchmade games, there is an expectation that you will play to win. It's one thing to try an "off-meta" pick or less common build, but that's not what you did and you know it.

If you want to completely mess around, either go in a Custom match by yourself, or find some friends who don't care and queue up as a full team.

well to be fair, it does look like a troll build
