Smart plays & better teamfight contribution awards higher Mastery, not just KDA
So I see people constantly posting that the Mastery system is "rigged" & "broken", since they claimed it to be "randomize" most of the time due to certain situations thinking it deserves a higher mastery. In this thread, I will just try to explain some tips in here imo as to how I got this rank as the image shows, or knowing when will you be expecting getting an A or lower.
Note that most of the points I listed here may be Support-related, but may still relate sometimes with other lanes

#1) Try not to miss most of your skillshots.
If you managed to land about 90% of those skillshots, you're guaranteed to receive a higher Mastery point than usual (although I think it's just a bit). But if you landed only about 50% of the time or lower, the Mastery points can really be brought down lots. Landing skillshots like Braum's Q, Corki's ult, Thresh's Q, Jhin's ult & such can be crucial in gaining more Mastery than average.
#2) Always ward.
Looking at you ADC mains.....
Having to constantly ward all the time is also beneficial in gaining more Mastery points, but it has to be well-placed in certain specific places, such as the multiple path junction in the Blue jungle, Dragon/Baron river, or straight up warding the enemies' jungle instead. Getting to know the specific positions of the unaware enemies whilst catching them off is pretty good in creasing your Mastery points. But please, try to prevent double warding, such as putting one in bush & the other outside of bush. Not sure if this would decrease your points, but try not to.
Buy pink wards as well. Be kind to your teammates & contribute some of dem 75 gold.
#3) If you felt that you fk up your plays, you're guaranteed to gain lower Mastery points.
Did you guys ever had that moment, where you planned to make some smart(dumbass to be precise) LCS plays, but things didn't go your way & you ended up dying or managed to escaped by a sliver of HP? Well, in terms of Mastery points, this kind of thing can really bring your Mastery points down.
You may be going 10/2/3 against a lane opponent, but having to fail a certain play & ending up getting double ganked could potentially lower your Mastery points standards a lot. Examples of such are:
-
Made some dumbass "E and then Q" move, but you ended up being locked down by CC and probably killed you, or you Flashed away. -
Basically when you noticed an incoming skillshot, you Flashed straight instead of sideways & still ended up being hit anyway.
-
Getting your barrels killed most of the time before you yourself can proc it, or missing the combo onto the enemy all the time. -
Like (2), always missing your Q. -
Diving into a 1v3 fights & died in all of them.
So there you have it. This may not contain all the necessary information in getting S ranked, but I may update it at all times & will probably bump it for you guys. Now get out there, stop missing skillshots, & try not to show-off by making stupid plays which guarantees you your own death :)
