I autofill a lot, and there are times when I get role I don't play very often (Mid Cough cough) and I don't do as well as someone who might play mid 25% of the time vs my 5% of the time, so this raises my question, is it ok to say no to a role if you know you will cause a loss?

You can't force anyone to take your role just because you don't want it (everybody has to do their turn autofilling when they queue for low priority roles all the time), but you can always ask to trade. If you are nice and explain that you have no experience in the roll and tell them what you are good at, sometimes they'll swap with you.
Honestly I ALWAYS hated autofill from the time it started.
This is my view and I assume a lot of the community agrees.
Acceptable - Hey guys, im Autofilled MID. I never play MID... would JG or TOP want to switch with me please? If not its ok..
NOT Acceptable - FCK AUTOFILL!!!! I don't play mid. If you don't switch with me im trolling and feeding
