What have Riot learned from the Ryze & Cass rework?

Ryze

Old Passive:

  • Mana to AP
  • After casting 5 spells in a row, he will gain a shield & bonus movement speed for a short period of time. During the duration, each spell he cast will refresh the cooldown of his other basic abilities.

New Passive:

  • Mana to AP & vice-versa.

Cassiopeia

Old Passive:

  • Gains stack of Aspect of the Serpent for poisoning enemies.
  • At 100 stacks, bonus 5% AP & E heals.
  • At 250 stacks, 15% AP & 25% CDR
  • At 500 stacks, 30% AP

New Passive:

  • Bonus movement speed......that's it.

So what's the motto we've learned today? That's right, it is to:

#KEEP. IT. SIMPLE.

God I hope the new Yorick wouldn't be as complex as them or Aurelion Sol......

Technically they moved alot of Ryze's old passive to his Q move and shield bonus to his Q via double using W and/or E twice first before he pops Q. Plus its just his Q resets whenever E or W is popped.

For Cassiopeia, yeah they made it simple and powered up alot of her other abilities especially her W being a anti'dash/flash/etc and has a slow scaling and wide field power. I'd rather take a simple champion kit that can be understood and flexible, then one overloaded and some omni'potent or highly situational kit. Old Cassie may of been insanely good for late game but it was too late game situational and require to poison a huge number of targets (not like they put a extra stack on hitting champ bonus either), meaning till you hit those counters, they might as well be as useless as Veigar 'IF HE ONLY' got his extra AP whenever he hits each 100 mile stone stack. With just the bonus move speed and can't buy boots, she has that nice lower gold cost gap since she can save 900~1100 gold for something else, she scales her move speed so she eventually becomes faster or equally just as fast then a person with completed boots, out scaling move speed for those without boots or just the boots of speed alone. Exception being those nutty % move speed stacker champions though.

That they need to hire a third party for reworks.
