Is your MMR boosting detection procedure/system severely flawed or are people just sharing their accounts and not realizing it's against the rules? I'm growing increasingly skeptical that it's as accurate as it should be.
Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised if it's just people sharing their accounts. It's against the rules and yet people do it because they think oh it's my friend it doesn't matter.

I believe that's the intention of the thread creators (assuming that they're guilty). Create uncertainty in the community so that there's at least a slim possibility that Riot will feel pressured to reverse some of the bans.
shrug Who knows, could be a flawed system, could be people lying and trying to hide the fact.
Riots doing their annual ban waves, it's expected for people to complain thinking they got away.
They boost then wait in panic for 2 weeks then feel like they got scot free. Get banned months later, confused because they didn't boost "Recently".
Go look at that 180 voted thread about it, Riot already pointed out the guy was in fact guilty and lying.
I doubt the system is perfect, but it's a lot more accurate then it's being made out to be.
Riot says they are 100% positive hand reviewing cases for MMR boosting bans. I have never seen a false ban for MMR boosting. So in answer to your question. Could it not be possible a wave of MMR boosting bans are coming out now and naturally there are more complaints than usual. Also just because people do not think they can be caught does not give them the right to complain when they are stinky cheaters lol. When I fap I think of their sweet tears.
You DO realize that everyone who is being banned over it will come here and say it's a false ban, right?
By the looks of it, they're issuing a new ban over Boosting cases and such, so everyone affected by it will come to the forum and complain about it, even if we have no means to know wether they're lying or not instead of issuing a ticket.
I have a smurf account which I level up to Plat 3 and has been fine so far, so I'll assume they really do their work properly, as otherwise my smurf would have been banned due to a quick increase in MMR.
I'll let you know if they make me eat my own words about my acount, tho.
You're seeing "more and more" of them because Riot apparently just did a whole bunch of bans for boosting all at once. Pretty sure they did the exact same thing at the end of S4 as well.
Every time Riot does a "ban wave" you get a bunch of people posting about their bans on the forums/Reddit. It doesn't necessarily mean they were inaccurate, just that they did more bans than usual that day or week.
I play at home, at my gf's house, tethered on my cell phone, at a cafe, and at a buddies house... Haven't been banned yet that I'm aware of... but I'm a lowly silver... who'd want to ban me?
I always figured the "account sharing is against the rules" is just a stopgap so if you give someone your password, they take your acct, you can't go to Rito asking for it back.

Every ban wave I've ever seen is accompanied by forum/board threads about wrongful bans. I have heard of maybe 3 instances where a rioter took a closer look and overturned it. In most cases, drawing a Red's attention results in a harsher ban (i.e. a 2 week bumped up to a perma).
on September 29th i recieved a notification that my league of legends account "Fuzzypeach13" had been suspended because "MMR boosting" as i had been told and as i have understood it is becuase they think someone had/has logged into my account and tried to boost me but truthfully it isnt true i had played last season and gotten silver as i only wanted the border and i played 10 games to get it this season i played countless games to get to gold V which happened about a week ago i had done this with the help of my friend "liamlama" i had only logged on too only too computers for the past month which was mine that i use at home and a computer that i used to play at a pc cafe with my friends (nobody logged onto the account other then me there) furthermore the fact that i am currently at 0 lp and played with my friend further proves that i wasnt "mmrboosting" is there anyway i can prove it to riot i would really like my end of the season rewards as i have played hard to earn it.
