I was told to "go die in a hole" just because I'm turret-hugging as Gangplank Top against Fiora Top

Usually GP Top is a tad non-recommended as everyone mentions that he gets dived easily or that he doesn't bode so well against many top laners (which is why he is pref a mid laner), but I'm the type of guy who likes unique things like this, so I chose GP Top anyway.

At start of the game, I was getting bullied hard at early levels by Fiora top, a champion whom everyone knows to be highly difficult to duel/1v1 with. So unlike other players who tends to ignore dangers/threats like this, I proceeded to do the safest thing possible: turret-hugging & safely farm from range. After around 10 minutes into the game, the enemy Fiora proceeded to spam toxic stuffs like:

"gp, go die in a hole pls" "you're boring af" "u suck so much"

And whenever I scored a kill on her thanks to the help of my jungler, she then proceeded to spam:

"lol 2v1 noob" "u need ur mama to help u?"

I just literally ignored everything she said & just reported her straight at end-game lobby. Good news, I just received the "A player has been punished" pop-up box during champion select on the next game.

I just can't understand the logic of cocky players such as this, especially when it comes to players who picks broken champions such as the Fiora herself. Like, I'm sorry you needed champion with mixed AD/True Damage & AoE heal just so your taunts & whines can be embraced & justified against me? Especially when I respected your strength which resulted in me needing to turret-hug? That's just immature af.

First off, who the fuck is saying GP mid is better than Top GP? Don't even dare to tell me Tobias.

I also disagree that this is the best playsyle against Fiora for GP. Place a keg on your own Melee creeps, hug that keg, farm and poke the Fiora If she Q's to you you auto your Keg, shank her with your passive, run away and Q her for the Thunderlords proc.

Post level 6, make sure to have 2 safety kegs that aren't connected, because she will parry one most likely.

As for the Fiora, the guy propably just shoved the lane in all game, didn't even attempt to set up a freeze or anything. Just a bad player who doesn't know how toplane works lol

It's always a great feeling to see that ''a player has been punished'' pop up.

It just means that A) they're tilted, and B) they're bored and aren't usd to the farm all game playstyle. If the player was smart he/she coulda roamed or stole a jg camp.

The player could also be trying to goad you into leaving tower and risking your life. Good on you though for not taking the bait.

Thats best feeling in game. Thats why i love playing Morgana mid/top. Drop W hide near turret. Enemy gets frustrated and rages and dives

This is what GP is supposed to do. He outscales alot of champions in late game team fights and can be the game changer. By farming up you are playing the champion

Want to upvote and downvote. Fiora is a scumbag champion but I also hate GP. Good GP's hug towers like they are their mother's teets and im like stop eating those damn oranges and get off that tower so i can kill you. Great GP's though know which lanes they can play aggressive early on which also requires a more difficult/dangerous play style.

Gp is perfectly solid top. In fact, I'd classify him up there with fiora as one of the more stupidly overtuned champs. Arguing otherwise is either intentionally lying or being very naive.
Hugging tower as gp is the normal thing to do. As long as you are not missing a ton of cs or something, there is nothing wrong and everything perfectly normal with this as a gp in the early game.
Many toplaners will taunt you in various ways: mastery spam, fake recalling, spamming laugh or taunt, typing in chat, etc. to try to bait you into doing something - that something usually being taking a bad fight when the enemy has their jungler around.
People 2v1 all the time - it's the job of every toplaner to ward and have an escape or outplay prepared or accept their death. If you are going to camp someone for 15 min though when you already have a counter-pick and take a combat summoner (exhaust/ignite) vs the enemy's tp, then you are just being a donkey. Have some honor and win or lose 1v1 without needing 15 min of the jungler zoning your opponent off of cs and xp just to be able to 1v1 them.

Why is gp so annoying and strong though? a. 0 pressure to win lane or fight because he WILL almost always outscale b. easy waveclear from long range via barrels and q mean he doesn't have to interact with the enemy toplaner if they are melee; if ahead, he can CHUNK you out with ease from complete safety, if behind, he can't easily be tower dove because he will just clear the giant wave before it hits tower. c. spammable heal and cleanse means by the time he gets triforce, he can spam heal any damage chunk you get on him in a trade if you can't all-in delete him; something made hard to do since he can force you to blow your 1 gapcloser just to deal damage to him, cleanse out of it (plus heal himself), and pop a barrel for some nice return damage which also SLOWS you to prevent you chasing him down again. Then hide under tower, set up barrels, and spam heal to negate all the damage you did while the damage he returned sticks. Thus, he needs to majorly screw up to die 1v1 - you basically need a teammate with cc to help you kill him 1v1. This is only made more impossible since many gp's take (or used to take) exhaust instead of tp. d. he gets more gold than you do just for farming, gets more gold for q'ing you in the face from range whenever he wants, and gets free kills or assists just by pressing r on someone halfways across the map almost guaranteed. e. they all tend to act like they are some amazing player with tons of skill and outplay when it takes far less skill to play gp into most melee's than it does for the melee player PLUS the melee has pressure on them to WIN the lane which gp does not have. Spammable cleanse plus heal while also having ranged aoe waveclear and harass plus movespeed and slows combo's to kite out almost any enemy cc and engage means you don't need skill.

There are certain toplaners who just get too much safety, champs who can avoid being bullied early while outscaling disgustingly who I have no respect for in most cases. Sure it takes a bit of skill to learn one thing on the champ (like gp double/triple barrels) but after that there is basically no skill/outplay required by the player as compared to their opponent - even on a simpler champ like renekton or darius. Fiora, gp, on-hit kennen and teemo, etc. simply farm up safely, outscale most opponents via items and/or champ kits, and actually require less effort and skill to win if no jungler influence is involved than many of their opponents. I take extra pleasure when champs like these get 1v1 destroyed in lane. Or 1v2 outplayed despite getting jungle help.

gp mid lane works, but I think hes better top thats just my opinion.

you know I dont really blame him/her for being salty/toxic... facing a good/smart gp also tilts the shit out of me XD

Funny coincidence, I just finished playing a Fiora Top game against a GP but the GP was trying to 1v1 me instead of hugging tower. It was a good day for me. Not so much for the enemy GP (or his team for that matter). But yeah, that Fiora sounds like an asshole and I'm glad you did the right thing.

tbh fighting someone who turret hugs all lane is pretty irritating, i usually just punish you by pushing the wave all the way to your tower then go roam and kill your teammates.
