In regards to the skin reward at the end of the season

As we know, a skin is rewarded to those Summoners who reach Gold by the end of the season.

As someone who was Silver in S3 and Gold in S4, I have been on both sides of this gift.

However, I propose that the skin is rewarded based on improving over last year. For some Summoners,they will never reach Gold. For others, this is an automatic skin that is awarded with little to no work.

I generally play this game for fun. I'm not that interested in seeing how high I can get. But last year was quite fun trying to fight for Gold to get the skin. I see no reason to play ranked this season. I'll play my 10 placements in Sept some time and grind out to Gold in under 20 games.

If you're just barely a gold player and you expect to grind out gold in less than 20 games then I believe you have another thing coming.

Would that potentially lead to incentive to avoid Challenger tier? I mean, there's only so much improvement you can do, at and some point, you'll either drop from the previous season or merely hold steady. Seems unfair to those players at the top of the pack to not be able to earn it despite their skill.
