Really could care less what you think but saying "EZ" is bad sportsmanship and the player using it should be banned and I am pretty sure they do. So, being that you think it's ok to be a bad sport, you my friend are just another pathetic narcissist that I feel very sorry for.

According to Lyte, no one has yet been banned only or explicitly for saying "ez", but the term is nevertheless viewed as being rather negative.

So while there may not be bans because of it, it's still considered a valid report.

Do you have a source on this? I'd like to make sure I'm more educated moving forward.

Overall, I would expect that it's a moderate indicator of other toxicity. Was the comment from Lyte saying that no one has been banned (that specific punishment type) for it, or that no one has been punished at all (including chat restrictions) only for saying it?

I kinda wonder what the point of reporting it would be if it doesn't result in an outcome on its own, especially since back in the days of the Tribunal we were asked to vote punish for any negative behavior. I suppose it could strengthen a case of general negativity, but if it's not a direct factor there would likely be enough other material to result in a punish regardless.

I'm on my way to work at the moment. When I have a chance, I'll dig up his post about it and edit that, as well as some thoughts.

But my general understanding is that it's considered negative, so it marks against the account - but it's so mild as to be insufficient on its own to warrant much of anything.

I've never seen a player banned for just saying "BG" or "GGEZ."

We're not saying that's even possible, just that those phrases are considered more negative than positive. GGEZ is clearly negative almost all the time, but the system agrees "BG" varies in context but can be misunderstood.

Both "ggez" and "bg" are considered negative phrases, so reporting them is fine.

EDIT ::: To add more context to this since it was late last night, "GGEZ" is considered really negative in all contexts. However, the system does agree that "BG" is more negative than positive, but has varied meanings depending on context. Secondly, no players are punished for just saying either of these phrases and nothing else.

Globally, we see that "BG" and "GG EZ" are considered negative and unsportsmanlike. So, let's just stop using those phrases.

I was going to post some thoughts and takeaway from this, but then I realized I'd really just be repeating what's already contained in the quotes (or what I've already said). So I'll just let them stand.

It's funny because that's not true at all. Riot has said they are against people saying "Ez" so you don't get flagged against it for reporting someone... the people that said it are who get flagged.

I can understand why it is annoying but I wasn't aware that it was considered reportable. It's not something that by itself I'd be reporting, but it could be a trigger statement that makes people more likely to report someone who is saying other rude things. Anyway wanted to flag this discussion as I'm interested in knowing more about what Riot thinks of this also...
