Sight Stone Argument

So Please don't start this off with a ton of downvotes, yes a support should build sightstone, but is there any place where it is actually mandated that a support has to build it?

If so, I'd like to know where, because a lot of people argue that if you don't it is "trolling" and considered a "banable offense". I don't actually remember seeing Riot post anywhere that supports have to build it or get banned.

Could we get some proof of who is actually in the clear here?

No, of course there isnt. But it is expected. Think of it as a social contract. You do some things simply because should, like picking up your dogs crap during a walk, holding the door for the person behind you, buying a sightstone as a support, etc.

Support champs are balanced in a way that allows them to work in a low gold envoroment. A sightstone offers no stats and is very gold inefficient (by design) otherwise everyone would buy it. Non support champs need to buy items that bring them to their powerspike as quickly as possible. Because of base damage or their high utility, support champs will usually get there power spike at level 2 or 3

This has to do with history of the meta, when supports spent a build of money on wards. A sightstone cut that cost down. As someone that mained support a long time, i will report for assisting the enemy team if support does not buy one.
