Losing faith, even more so, in the people who play this game.

So I've had a horrendous night in ranked. First I get a Leona who is 0/6/2 and a Vi who is 1/6/1 in under 15 mins, then a get a Morde who is 0/9/0 in under 20 mins, followed by a bot lane who goes 0/4 together in under 10 mins, so the Alistar leaves lane to start roaming and the Lucian ends up going 4/7/0 by the 20 min mark and starts to just feed on purpose until our Kass gets a penta with our help, but at that point he's fed the enemy Jinx far too much and they'd already got all our inhibs down cause of it.

The worst one is next though, cause even though I was put into games I just straight up could not win cause one or two people will just feeding so hard, my last game is by far the worst.

We got into champ select, and everyones saying which roles they want, and I say "look guys, I'm not having a good night tonight, and I'm queuing up for one more game and am putting my faith in you all, so I'll fill but my pref roles are top/jun."

Then three of the people on my team say "hey let's just feed and get a new record for fastest game lost!" I laughed along cause I've seen some people do that before just to try and make the person who spoke first angry, that in and off itself is a very shitty thing to do, but my opinion of this community was already quite low, so I was just gonna role with it.

But ofc, no, I was entirely wrong to put any faith in anyone at all, my MF, Thresh, and Shen all fed on purpose and shit talked about me in all chat for the entire game, all of them except for my Akali were awful human beings, far worse then what I expected. So yeah I reported them all, but they reported me as well and I'm sure a couple of the people on the other team reported me (except the Vayne, she seemed to see the big picture and said she'd report them for me, but the LB and Malphite just joined in and shit talk me even though I said two things in all chat all game). So I have a feeling I'll be the one looked at in the Tribunal and the others will go unnoticed, even though the fed on purpose because I said I had faith in them and would fill for them.....

So yeah, this community just keeps getting worse and worse and worse.... and there just seems to be far too many ways for these awful people to get away with being just that, awful people.

And yes I know, "people act shittier online cause they have a screen protecting them," but that only goes so far, I don't know a single person who would be such a pathetic little child in any game or online at all, to have the capacity to do it online you must at least have the urges to be a horrible person in real life as well.

I got two drunk people in two different games who probably didn't feed on purpose but had obviously slooooooowwww reactions. This is also my first time actually doing placements and I'm losing a lot of faith in this system. ._.

We had two inhibs down, the enemy jinx was 14/4, the enemy Yasuo was 8/2, and we only had two outer towers down, and then we caught Jinx out walking between lanes right next to our base, then they overstayed in our base hard and me as Aatrox and our Alistar just kept the other 4 busy while Kass popped in and out, eventually getting a Penta when their Braum turned to kill me since I had no health, even though my passive was up.

We outplayed them once, and it kept our nexus alive for two more fights, but then they got Baron and our Vi died trying to steal it, and then Kass got ulted by Malph and Yas when he went to drop a ward. It was a ridiculously uphill battle and we held on as long as we could while Lucian fed on purpose, but the difference in gold was too much, they fucked up multiple times and all it did was keep us alive, but we fuck up ONCE and it's all over.

Right, like I said it was a ridiculously up hill battle and we held on, but everything was stacked against us, and just being able to potentially win, doesn't make winning such a scenario any easier.

surely not but all im saying is that despite your teammates sucking so bad, you can actually gain elo from these games.

now see, if you play exactly as skilled or unskilled as your enemy laner does, you will have 50% winrate and you will lose all these hard-to-win games and you will win all these freewins and you will stay where you are.

if you play better than your enemy laner by a bit you will make some hard-to-win games look like balanced games and some of them you will win, this means your winrate increases by a few %.

now if you do really good, you can actually make all of the hard-to-win games look kinda balanced and you can win most of them. if YOU play PERFECT, your winrate will be 95% in challenger and near 99% in everything below that.

if you go afk every game always, your winrate will be 40%. this means (to all people who have less than 40% winrate - you actually make your team lose) so if your winrate is 50%, you contribute 10% winrate to your team which is average. tho it also means you only use 20% of your skill-potential. wow, 20%. thats nothing. gotta work on increasing it!

You're forgetting to take account for the skill of your enemy team, an opposing laner just as skillful will hold you back as you do them, and an enemy laner in another lane more skillful then your teammate will make your chances at winning more difficult as well.

There are simply far too many variables in a match for it to be brought down to a few percentages like that.

But yeah I win lane almost all of the time, and I never afk in a match, at least not on purpose, internet can be a bitch sometimes. There are just some games that you cannot win due to one or two people, no matter how good you are, it happens to just about everyone.

im not forgetting anything but it seems you dont know math too well.

if an enemy laner in another lane does better than your laner in that same lane, thats one game specific but statistically, they will do equally well/suck equally hard. its all about you and "i didnt lose my lane" doesnt mean shit. basically you can say you have to be where your enemy laner is and do what he does but just do it better.

thats a very simplified theory but why would you make it more complex than it is. if he doesnt roam, you dont need to roam either. you allready have 50% winrate by mirroring him and you increase it by doing it better than him and if you are more skilled than your elo, you will mostly do it better, thus have more than 50% winrate and therefore eventually climb.

also, the phrase of "winning lane" is very missleading and actually doesnt discribe a real scenario. for example, if you are leblanc against victor and you went 2/0 against him and he has 80 cs vs your 100 in 13 minutes, you didnt win anything yet. he is still strong and he can still deal alot of damage to your team, much more than you can do to his if the conditions are right.

this means you continually have to be where he is and use your advantage over him. the enemy riven might be 5:0 and much stronger than you but thats not your concern. victor is your concern. even if victor is far behind you, if he goes somewhere and you dont, he might be usefull enough to tip the scale towards his side and get some kills and suddenly in only the matter of one minute he is 2/2/1 and got 10 cs from botlane and now you are actually behind and you are the worse-scaling champion. you lost your lane.

you know how many times it happens to me that i completely shut down the enemy rengar and im lvl 10 vs 6 or 7 and i have almost 2 items while he barely completed his first one + boots.

now if i only let him gank once and get a doublekill on botlane, he will INSTANTLY get back in exp and my gold advantage will be neglible but if i countergank him, i am so much stronger than everyone that i will kill them all and get my team even further ahead. this is how you win your lane.

enemy irelia teleports bot and kills my team? shit, thats bad. nothing i can do about it tho and its also not my job. if i can do it while at the same time making sure rengar doesnt interfere or does something very useful for his team, the better. that means im playing truly above my elo by a big margin because i can do my own job and my toplaners job at the same time. this will increase my winrate drastically.

There are so many shitty players in this game but also atleast the same amount of decent players. The only advice I can give you is that you should be really careful in what you're writing or requesting. Many potential trollers or even decent players get provoked by that.

One time I had a Lee in a ranked game (it was a time where the boards were overflowded with QQ-threads about trollers in rankeds) and spammed in the chat "DON'T TROLL PLS" I mean I knew what he was trying to accomplish but what was it helping writing that in the chat? It definetely wouldn't stop a troller by doing what he does nor prevent anyone from trolling (rather provoke somebody to). After he spammed it like 10 times and died firstblood alone in the enemy jungle lvl 3 I really considered building a troll built just because of that childish behavior (nobody trolled till the end and we even won).

Sometimes it's better to stay and pray quitely instead of making them notice how you dislike certain behavior I would say.

That's part of the problem though, I didn't say anything offensive, I still gave everyone the roles they claimed to pref, never spammed anything, and I thought I was being polite, and I still "triggered" at least one of them which in turn got the other riled up, if not just flat out triggering all 3.

THAT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE A THING! That's just how awful too many people in this community are, you have to "be careful" what you say or they'll fuck everything up just to make other people upset, THAT'S PATHETIC! And too many people in his community don't see that!

I do agree about your Lee Sin, that dude was just toxic and I would've felt the same, wouldn't have done it cause I know it's wrong to stoop to that level regardless, but I've had the thought before. However, as I said I didn't do any of that! I even stayed calm and laughed along with them as I thought they joked about feeding, just to found out NOPE they were all actually going to feed just to see how mad they could make me.

I said 2 things in all chat and questioned why they were doing what they were doing ONCE, only to get completely bombarded about how toxic I was and them all complaining in all chat about it to try and get them all to report me, just for the sake of trolling I guess.

And the problem is, even if it's 1 shitty person to 4, that one shitty person then typically ruins the entire game for the other 4 people, much less 3 shitty as fuck people, so even if the ratio between awful people and good people is 1:1, that's still absolutely horrendous.

it's pretty sad yes. But I still think it's the majority of people that are nice and friendly partly just staying quiet the whole game. We only remember the shitty ones because they make us upset, the rest is ok and we forget about them.

The problem is still that just one shitty person out of five ruins the whole game.

But you are right, the awful people simply overshadow the nicer ones, there are just too many awful people atm for the good ones to ever really shine through, even in a 1:4 ratio, it literally has to be a 0:5 ratio, and it does happen on occasions, just not all that often, which is the problem.

It SHOULD be a 0:5 ratio, of bad to good, most of the time, it just simply isn't.

Why are you playing soloq ranked? Find a team, if you are a tryhard and play 5v5 or play normals for fun. There is no point in ranked solo.

I have a team, we don't even play hardcore we just enjoy working together to improve. We play more 3s then 5s, easier to get people together for it ofc, but we do play 5s on occasion. The problem is we're a bronze 5s team and keep getting paired against diamond players every other game, it's like we just wreck one team, then get matched against diamonds and usually put up a good fight but end up losing, then get paired against golds and plats again and the cycle repeats! lol

And I play ranked over normals cause I see no value in playing normals by myself, aside from learning new champs or playing with a group of friends who are either too far ranked apart or if we only have like 4 people or something. Ranked gives me a goal to reach for, no matter how insignificant it is, so I find playing more enjoyable. Honestly if it was only normals available I just wouldn't play, no goal, nothing to work for, to improve myself for, then no fun.

However, this kind of behavior, the shit I was talking about in my OP, it doesn't fucking matter what kind of match I'm playing, it should never be acceptable ever for any reason! It's pathetic and childish and should be far more severely punished much more often, no matter what kind of queue I'm playing in. And yes, it does happen in all kinds of matches, almost more often in normals cause people tend to give less of a shit, in which case yeah losing means nothing, but then the match is still ruined by how awful these people are as human beings, internet or not.

last 2 months of the season are impossible to rank up in, you have half the community getting ELO boosted, so heavy smurf impact in every game gold and below. and then everyone who's bad but wants a chance at a border before the season ends playing, and if you're like me, you get 99% of the bad players and are against most of the smurfs and you have to carry the whole game every game or you don't win. that's why i hit gold 1 like week 2 and stopped and just started playing smurfs
