so I've been all pumped to change my summoner name for like 6 months now, and the name I wanted (swain bot) was to be available the day after Christmas. I log on Christmas evening so I can check the time it will come up to fine out that the guy had played 1 game. that day. just one. that's it. played a bot game for the first time in 6 months and just left it at that. my bro in law even gave me like 50 bucks in rp for Christmas because I didn't have enough.

couldn't have just waited 1 day? T_T

my original plan was to change it to just "swain" and I was super excited when I saw it was available but then I found out riot keeps those for marketing purposes or something :(

the holding of names for as long as they do is the joke. Example the OP post. People can easily abuse this system still and hold names forever. I am personally hoping for a name but the account that owns it is level 20 so the name is locked for a year and a half.

There is no reason non active players names should be held over a year unless they are level 30.

People are abusing the system to hold to something cause they can. Not that they actually want it.

meh, I don't feel like its a problem unless its an account below level 10. I feel like the base time you have should be shorter, because lets face it if a level 1 account isn't played for 4 months or so they probably aren't coming back, at least for a long time. otherwise, I don't see it as much of a problem

a year and a half for a level 20 account? 2 years for a level 30?. Lets get real here. if someone has not logged in and played in 6 months with a level 30 account they are probably done with the game.

If you have not hit level 30 and you havent played in 6 months you are also probably done with the game also.

in my religion, the young men serve a 2 year mission some time after hitting the age 18 and graduating from high school. so I must disagree with that. also, I personally know many people who just stopped playing for a while for x reason (first that comes to mind because he was tired of the community) and come back some time later, which I am actually thinking about doing. imo the time gone makes perfect sense.

also, as a side note, 90% of players who have reached level 20 are gonna get to lvl 30 and continue playing

So you left the game for 2 years? You should keep you league name? Your account is not deleted, your account gets to grab a new name at that point.

uninstall this game. seriously, nobody wants people with your kind of attitude in their games, and it's people like you that make me hate this player base. you get proved wrong and so you get all butthurt and start raging at everyone. first off, that wasn't an actual statistic, that was an estimate off of what I would think to be the most likely scenario, so stfu about you being butthurt about getting disagreed with. second, why would I not care about having my name changed? as I said earlier, atm I am trying to get a new summoner name, one that I really badly want, and you think I wouldn't want to keep that? also, ditto to your "I don't care", because I would bet my limbs that not a single person in this entire game gives a crap that you are so butthurt about not getting that summoner name from a level 20 account. so keep your mouth shut, nobody wants to hear that crap, and ESPECIALLY don't start pissing at somebody in a perfectly civilized conversation just because you're annoyed that someone is disagreeing with you and has something to back their opinion.

considering that based of no provoking statement from me or anyone and that you blew up like you did proves a few things. 1, that you clearly have no self control and serious issues with being unable to handle being wrong or even disagreed with. 2, that you are one of those idiots everybody hates that gets pissy whenever something doesn't go their way. and 3, you are a prime example of the toxicity in this community, out-staged by very few people I have seen.

yo trash. it was not a blow up. I asked real questions but your to stupid to even attempt to answer. Instead you got but hurt cause i do not care about your religion. I do not care one way or another what you choose to do. Leaving something for 2 years is your choice. That does not mean the every one else should have to wait for players like that.

Either way, the way you respond showed your trash. I questioned and you could not even attempt to answer. I asked for numbers based off your comment you had none.

I stated that nothing besides the name is lifted form the account. Plus you get to grab at a new name. There is no anger just logic.

People leaving is a choice(for any reason). Still more logic.

so let me get this straight. you are going to refuse to accept my response as an answer because you're butt hurt that it's right? and then you go and claim that you were using "logic" and not "anger". must have forgotten that cussing me out is classified as logic and not an angry rant. then you go and say that you asked me for numbers based off my comment despite the fact that you in fact did not, only criticized me for not having a source and using my personal experience as a reference.

leaving for a mission for my church aside, lets take another example. how about a person going overseas to serve in the military? or a person who is battling a disease and cant play for a while? should they only get 2 or 3 months to recover before having their summoner name up for auction?

its really sad to see this happen. but i know that feel! when they first announced name swipes this name im currently using was unavailable because they played the one game within the time limited, then i guess they forgot about it and the following year i was able to get it! just keep waiting mate and youll be able to get the name you want!
