What do chat restrictions even do?
I have been playing League since May 28th 2014. Upon reaching level 30 I had maybe been chat restricted once prior for 2 games if not after getting to level 30. Then later I get a 12 game chat restriction out of nowhere. About a few weeks before this I created a smurf. That smurf managed to get a 22 game chat restriction after about 2 days. Now I'm getting on and with no notification that smurf currently has a 60 game chat restriction, and I didn't know until I was ingame. First off, why am I getting longer chat restrictions around level 10 than on my main account? Second, what good does chat restricting do? All it does is stop you from telling your team vital information. What if they are taking baron and don't listen to your pings? But oh no you don't have any messages left so now the enemy gets baron and wins the game. I'm sure making people lose more than 75% of the games they are chat restricted in when doing solo queue is fair to them and their team. There has to be other ways to "discipline" (Quotations because I still don't know why I keep getting chat restricted and why it is so long) people instead of making them lose games. I mean if you are going to force them to lose games and just waste 40 minutes of their life just for each game, is that really giving people a reason to continue playing?
