Is LoL more GPU or CPU dependant?

I'm looking to build a new PC, and plan on Purchasing a EVGA GTX960 SSC (4GB Ram) along with an AMD FX-8350 Octa-core processor.

Should I be spending more money on my GPU or CPU in terms of playing/recording league?

Trust me besides the recording/playing you're doing fine. I can record league with Window 10's Game DVR and play league fine. My setup right now is a i -4590 and a GTX 960 OC 4GB. Right now my average frame rate (not recording, although it doesn't effect my machine like at all.) is around 180 FPS on the highest of settings. So what i'd recommend is looking at storage. Also i'd recommend looking at either AMD's new RX 480 which is $20 cheaper and will probably have better performance, along with thinking about your storage setup. If you have any more question either add me on league or DM me on the boards since I recently bought my computer and I've been researching this for maybe 3 months now?

180 FPS would definatly suite what I'm looking for.

Currently I'm on a pretty old laptop, and in game I average around 45-50 FPS. When I attempt to record with OBS, It hits around 18 FPS at 1280x720 and very low graphics settings. I have enjoyed complex video creation over the past 4 years or so, all on this laptop, but I have recently been looking forward to making my own gameplay videos/highlight reels, which just isn't possible on this rig.

My current laptop's specs:

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit Processor: AMD Turion Ultra Dual Core Mobile M600 Ram: 4 GB GPU: AMD Radeon Series 3700 Motherboard: idek

New PC Specs (Once I get it):

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit Processor: AMD FX 8350 Octa Core Black Edition Ram: Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SSC Gaming ACX Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G

Also, I plan on ordering a 250 GB SSD, along with an External 1TB Hard drive for file storage, as I hear SSDs can be vital to higher performance.

P.S. Many people say that GeForce products can be paired with NVidia's ShadowPlay, which can maintain high fps while recording. Do you think ShadowPlay is a better option than OBS?

I've never tried ShadowPlay and it's really just what options does it bring at that point. But yeah the SSD is going to be amazing. Id recommend loading the OS, League, Your internet connector, and any wanted games on there.

I actually decided on getting a 120 GB SSD. I Plan on putting windows, league, and some of my adobe programs on their for video editing and what not. I also changed out the motherboard because that one in particular is pretty garbage. My final specs:

I'm super excited to start collecting the parts and putting them all together, should be a fun experience.

I wouldn't do a collecting bit. Save up the amount right now till you have the amount. Otherwise something better thats cheaper might come out and you'll end up feeling ripped off because you already bought X part.
