I want to talk about Anivia

And no this isn't a rage post going ZOMG Anivia is OP or that she absolutely must be nerfed but rather i'm going to talk about her current state and nerfs that could have been.

Now many of you know that Anivia did receive a mini rework during the mage update where her Q projectile travel speed went up, and her E can now be cast from the edge of a hitbox rather than the center, and her R was reduced in initial size but gained the ability to expand with a 50% increase in damage upon reaching the max size. She can now also cast Zhonyas in her R now which made me pull some sneaky plays ;).

Now recently there was a set of Anivia nerfs which isolated the Q and R's passive effect. To me this made a lot of sense, basically the effect from her R will cause her E to deal 150% damage and landing your Q will cause her E to deal 200% damage. Instead what we got was a base damage nerf on the E.Considering her R is instant cast ability in lane it can turn the lane into pretty much a death trap at level 6. The reason I wanted the other nerf was because it would reward her for landing her Q whilst keeping her ult relevant for trades.

Now I know that some of you might be thinking oh but that Q is too hard to land or easy to dodge and that anivia will have to rely on that for trades but a decent use of your wall and glacial storm you can pretty much guarantee your stun landing. Another thing to note is that mana costs aren't as overbearing as they were before with reworks to literally every item that would've been built for mana with increased sustain in them so once you achieved your core items mana was no longer an issue. To further cement my point about her Q, in Albus Nox's game in worlds, the Anivia player Kira landed their stun consistently, and unless I'm mistaken those are some of the best players in the world which demonstrates that at times her Q is not so easily dodged at least in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

Now I know that maybe it might be going a bit far fetched to ask for what those previous nerfs were but what I would like to see if something done to Anivia's kit that allows her to stay relevant but become less oppressive in the long term. I mean hey, maybe it doesn't have to actually be a nerf, maybe it can just be a quality of life change on where more damage is shifted towards her Q.

Ofc though I do realize there are more oppressive champions than Anivia in lane such as Cassiopeia or Syndra who when they get a chance utterly decimate their lane opponents.

Now finally I will say I could be completely wrong in saying all this, but this is of course my own opinion based on my experience playing Anivia and playing against.
