Why is gangplank really dead?

A lot of people say its because of the lore and the event happening right now. So I would like to confirm, is it not because of any kind of bug or is it really just for lore reasons? Because if he is unplayable simply because of the lore than I am sorry but that is the utmost idiotic thing any company can do. Think about it, you update a couple of champions and their skins, then you start an event to celebrate it and build up hype. That is good money to be made and fun for the players. Then you kill one of the characters off for no real reason but to build up drama, because we all know hes coming back eventually, and disable him in all q's. Why would you do that? Think about all these poor people that thought the new GP looked cool and bought him or thought he was fun so they purchased a skin for him and now they can't even play him. I know this is frustrating because I am like that, I never played him before but I love his new update and when they disabled him I just didn't really want to play the game anymore. I wanted to try out the updated character and have some fun with something new, as many people want to do, and you just take it away. How about this, instead of forcing your lore onto everyone because you know 90% of people don't really care for it, just keep the lore where it belongs and don't let it mess with the game play. GP can die in the lore and come back and blah blah but still be playable. Come on riot, don't disable champs for no reason.
