If the institute of war no longer exists and summoners no longer exist, should summoner spells still be called summoner spells? Question for the day by yours truly.

What's with all this "Summoners no longer exist" stuff? Is it part of lore? Can someone fill me in?
If the summoners no longer exist then why do their spells? I wouldn't mind having everyone lose flash and ignite.
