Actually, here's where I'm going with this thread. I don't want a world where my children are afraid of speaking their mind because thousands or even millions of people are going to say NO, downvote them to oblivion, as well as cyber bully them because they spoke their mind.

Although if it's just plain insult on another person, then that is a different case.

It's the nature of communities to have a prevailing opinion. Don't go to an NRA meeting and expect them to listen to your anti-gun speech. Don't go to a tea party rally with your Obama shirt and tell everyone how great socialism and Obamacare are.

Likewise, if you go on an internet board and disagree with popular opinion be prepared for downvotes. Find a new board where people will be more receptive.
