Change this game entirely please? (mostly ranked)

TL;DR:

  • Remove mmr all together, create games and IP gains/losses based off of what league/tier you are in
  • Account wide ranked K/D/A and ranked games played visible next to player names in lobbies
  • Remove multi-Que ranked games all together
  • Que players together in brackets based off of how old their accounts are and seasons they have participated in
  • Que players together based off of how many games they have played in ranked this current season
  • Remove all chat entirely in ranked. There is no need to communicate with your enemy.
  • Remove promotional games in between tiers entirely
  • For league promos, at least place players who are in promos together and don't mix them with players who aren't
  • Offer additional static amounts of IP gain/losses based off of rank received during the game.
  • Offer ability to change player portrait border to any you've unlocked (such as bronze, silver, gold ex.) and add additional unlock-able borders for other certain things you can get in normal games, such as years played in general, games played, champions mastered ex.
  • Offer rewards for winning streaks
  • Stop adding so many new champions, stop reworking so many champions that have existed for years, stop changing mechanics so often, stop adding/removing items so often, let the game sit once it is decently balanced and just roll out skins and other cosmetic stuff.

For starters, I'm just wondering how the game would be 'bad' if we just got rid of mmr all together. Imagine this scenario; There is no such thing as mmr, instead you get placed in games ONLY with people in the same league AND tier as you, and all IP gains/losses are static equal numbers. So if you're Silver 5, you ONLY play games with silver 5 players, and you always win/lose 20 points no matter what. This way, even if you're only winning 51% of the time, you will see at least some kind of lateral progression. Wouldn't this REALLY place people where they ACTUALLY belong? I mean they could make the static win/losses depreciate as you get higher up in leagues, like in gold instead of 20 static w/l you get 10 or something.

Get rid of multi-que all together. If you want to do ranked with your friends, either have 4 of them to make a team or do normals instead. At least this would keep people from being boosted as easily, and it would probably get rid of much stupidity with friends only communicating with each other and stuff and ruining games.

Display K/D/A ratio of entire account an all champions played next to player name, and how many games they've played in a season. This way, we could dodge games where someone has an account k/d/a of like 1/25/1 over 500 games or something like that.

Only place players with people who have played in the same amount of time bracket as them. For example, if your account is less than one year old, you can only ever play ranked with other players whos accounts are less than one year old. Also only place players who have played in an equal amount of seasons together.

Remove all chat from ranked entirely. This shouldn't be a situation where people can just opt out of it if they don't like communicating with their enemy. It should simply not be possible at all. I've played this game almost two years now, and 99% of all interaction I have in all chat is negative. Its trash talking, having conversations that distract you, mind games from the enemy trying to trick you, ex. I can't bring myself to block all chat, because its there and I can't control myself. But even if I could bring myself to block all chat, I know I'd be in so many games where my team mates are using it anyway and THEY would get distracted/shit talk ex. I see no reason why it should exist. Games like world of warcraft don't allow you to communicate with your enemy and it has never taken away from the game there, so I doubt anyone would miss it if it were gone.

I personally hate this concept of promotional games. They are arbitrary and unfair. You get placed in games with people who aren't in a series for starters, which doesn't make sense. You're forced to win 2-3 games in a row or else be put back the games you lost + the two you had to win. So say you win 4 games in a row and you're at 80ip and then you lose two in a row. That would put you at 40ip, in which case you would only have to win 3 games in a row to get past where you were at. But if you lose a promo, you're set back the two you lost during it, and the two you'll have to eventually win again, so you're set back 4 games randomly and arbitrarily. If promos aren't removed, at least place players who are also in a promo together so that EVERYONE in the game is REALLY ACTUALLY trying.

Here is another concept; Actually make ranks like S+, S, and A mean something. Imagine, if IP gains/losses were not only static, but you gained an extra 1 for getting A, 3 for getting S, and 5 for getting an S+. This way, you are actually rewarded for how well you did. Likewise, remove one point if you get a C, and two for a D. Furthermore, imagine if you were rewarded for winning streaks. Since Riot thinks you need to arbitrarily win 75% of the time randomly in promos, imagine if you could earn special things for going on winning streaks. Like say, if you win 3 games in a row, the next time you lose, it will be a decreased amount of IP lost. Say it went something like this; 3 games in a row winning streak, your next loss would be 15 ip instead of 20. 5 games in a row winning streak, your next loss would be 10 ip, 10 games in a row winning streak, your next loss wouldn't lose you any ip. 15 games in a row winning streak, you get a free win in your next promo (if the were too still exist).

Some of the things I put in the TL;DR speak for themselves so I didn't elaborate. Most of these are just my little ideas that I believe would vastly improve the game. I hate seeing how I have hundreds of games played and that I've won more than lost over all, but I still sit at S5 because of insane and hilarious LP gains/losses and extreme punishment from the game because of losing streaks.

i mean, the first suggestion is not terrible. the second is actually good.

and from there you go on to suggest completely ridiculous ways that would make the games ranked experience nowhere close to have any integrity at all.

i do agree with one thing though, either move back to season 2 ranked and have MMR be the only thing that matters, or completely take it out of the game. that part is good. and maybe removing ability to queue up with friends is good too. but beyond that the whole post is full of terrible ideas.

Do you not know what TL;DR means?

Anyways... What you are suggesting would pretty much increase queue time exponentially. It also wouldn't do much regarding matchmaking balance, if anything at all... actually, it may just make it even worse. And new champions + reworks helps keep the game alive and fresh, why would you want that gone?

Also, the rank you get after a game has very little value because of how non-representative it is to how well you really did in a game. Here's a simple example: Why should I get punished with less LP for playing item 3301 Janna over item 3303 Janna when both are good depending on team comps? Sorry I didn't do as much damage to champion because I went for a more passive build to support my passive ADC.
