Just Had a Game with Toxic Enemy-Assisting Teammate and an AFK

After we didn't surrender at 20, he fed on purpose for the next 20 minutes, told the enemy his team was toxic and racist, and told them where we were going to be.

Yet the rest of the team kept trying, did not engage in a flame war, and did not let his actions get under their skin.

The result? The game wasn't made worse by the victims returning the toxicity. We made a good push 3v5 and actually had a chance to win. The only people that would get reported were the feeder/troll and the afk. Nobody had a rage fit to come vent on the forum.

All it takes is a little self-control, and only the trolls will suffer.

The moral is that raging and returning toxicity hurts you more than the troll and makes more victims. I really hope you got that part rather than just it was a lost game.

Oh I get the point you're making and it's true, but it's people like you I hate for wasting 10+ minutes of my life because you think you can win a legit 3v5, especially if what you're saying is true about the guy giving away your positions on the map.

You're really missing the other side of the coin. In your oblivious quest to avoid being toxic, you're actually being toxic and making other people's game experience worse.

I enjoy myself plenty, and even when people refuse to surrender in absurd conditions I play on and have a good time, but I also consider it a waste of time and dislike the people who force it on me. Just food for thought.

You say I'm making it worse for other people, but you had to ignore the part where the other 2 people on my team didn't give up for surrender either to come to that conclusion. All three people on my team other than the troll and afk agreed to continue...how does my agreement with the entire valid team make me a toxic troll?

So you made at least one person's experience worse. Sure, they were making yours worse as well by trolling, but you were having a negative impact on them. Fighting fire with fire, so to speak. Perhaps they were driven to troll due to a high amount of people like you. The correct response? Obviously not. But not all people are mature enough to understand that.

So maybe in this situation you negatively impacted one person, but what about all the times your insistence on playing into ridiculous odds has negatively impacted two? Or three? Maybe you should compromise sometimes and surrender when you're against impossible odds.

All I'm saying is that "never surrender" behavior encourages a lot of the toxicity that you run into.

And even if it doesn't visibly cause toxicity, it still creates a negative experience for people who are mature enough to play it out without saying anything.

Well the simple fact that you equate surrendering in a 3v5 with being a pansy seems evidence enough for me.

You don't know any of the conditions (towers down, inhibitors down, dragons, barons, kills, etc) beyond they had one AFK and one troll, and you have the audacity to claim that the game wasn't winnable?

Note that Valkyrie Witch never said that a 3v5 is normally winnable, but that this 3v5 was winnable.

3 to 1 isn't so bad but those games where people refuse to surrender and the majority want out? that is 2 people holding 3 hostage and creates toxicity.

I have heard people admit they are refusing to surrender to try to punish their teammates.

You wasted minutes of my life by being the loser that you are by coming into the game with that attitude already entrenched in your small brain saying if this goes bad I'm a friggin loser anyway so I'll just use the surrender button as a crutch to never learn shit so I can hurry up and get to the next game and do it again.

There is always a chance, always. Those of you who disagree have no business playing a competitive game until you understand that it's never impossible.

Both of us are right in our own minds and there is nothing you can do about it because I am going to do what I believe in as are, you so if you don't like it you can KMA. There is nothing you nor anyone can say that will change my way of thinking when it comes to quitting a game.

I also don't like it when I and 2 others want to surrender but then 2 people always say no; however, he wasn't with those kind of people in the game. All 3 of them wanted to continue. The afk obviously has no say in it, because he/she is afk and can't vote.

The only person who they would've annoyed is the troll. But really, if they want to keep playing, then who are we to stop them? If that many people want to continue playing the game and they're enjoying themselves because they think they still have a chance, then it's okay. And if the troll doesn't like it, then he/she shouldn't have trolled in the first place. It's really simple.

It would be a different story if the majority of the team wanted to quit and he and one other person were consistently voting no, but that isn't the case at all.

Perhaps you're correct regarding this specific game, but I was making more of a generalization. The op has made it abundantly clear in other posts and threads that they will not surrender regardless of the circumstances because they believe there is always a chance they can win. I was extrapolating from there.

No, no I haven't. I have even made it a point to add a disclaimer at the end of similar discussions that specifically state "I do not say never to surrender".
